I've been to the Spam Museum in Austin, Minnesota. I knew. A link to all the Spam varieties.

I also own Hormel stock (I like investing in Minnesota companies) and I've attended two of the shareholder meetings - held in the evening so hundreds could attend in the high school auditorium.

Mexico, Mexican restaurants; about three blocks from our little airport, there are street vendors.

This one came from a local restaurant.

We had a few birthdays in the last week, and the boss felt generous enough to buy us lunch to go from Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse. I am now enjoying the leftovers of my Dungeness crab cakes. The Crawfish chowder was delish. Everyone went nuts over the sweet yeast rolls with honey butter on the side. a true bomb and worth getting an order for your holiday dinner. Hard to believe something that good is just two blocks away, yet the lads would rather go to Chick Fil A and Chipotle instead. :confuzzled:

Now you know how I feel when I can’t find any vegan cream (or any other kind of vegan) cheese in my little cultural backwater.

Yeah, great marketing idea

Wait a minnit ... now I can't make any desserts using cream cheese AND I wasn't one of the 18,000 people who got paid to make something else.

I think I'll stick to the other brand forever. Great marketing idea, though.

I do not suggest a Great Lakes Christmas Ale right after eating a Chipotle burrito with the medium salsa (or probably any spiced food). The ale really becomes boring that way. You lose the flavors.

This is why we have drinks before the meal.

Letting it sit and warm a bit helps. It was also too cold since I have not broken down and gotten a second beer fridge.

I picked up a pint (very expensive) of the Kona Coffee flavor. Yum! Maybe too expensive for every day ice cream treats (Tillamook can handle that), but YUM! Found at local Safeway.

Due to a severe stomach upset the night before last I have been going easy on the eating.

This morning I made a poached egg on toast. Simple but delicious. I usually fry or scramble eggs. I had forgotten how good a simple poached egg could be.

Here in Switzerland all grocery chains have jumped upon a bandwagon I never heard of before: Veganuary aka promote Vegan stuff in January. Don't know when this marketing ploy started internationally, but last year it surely was not visible.

I imagine they are reacting to their market research.

I think these imitation "meat" products are just a fad. Sure, they don't have the fat amounts, but the sodium content is crazy high. If being more healthy is the goal, these products are not it.

If one doesn't want to eat meat, don't eat meat. I was a vegetarian for a number of years and there are many healthy cuisine alternatives with such a diet.

Yeah neon I am with you on that. Except when we used to travel all over the country when my son played baseball and sometimes there are no other food options.

Also, too, there is a burger chain called Hopdoddy here. The selection is so overwhelming that I ordered their veggie burger the first time and have never ordered anything else since. It's better than their "real" burgers (took bites of my husband's). I don't know what the fat content is, and we don't go to restaurants these days, but it used to be really good.

 i always wonder how the food industry think a vegan knows how meat tastes when they don't consume it, and construct a product with the look-and-feel (and near taste) of an animal origin item. Why not just outright make a product that tastes as "vegan" unrelated to meaty stuff, and try to present it in a visual appealing form rather than mimiking a cut of an animal. Even "sausage" aka stuffed in a long form can be presented without suggesting it is a animal derivate.
