1). Insurrection does not have a very specific legal definition.

2). The FBI, run by a Trump appointee, was not involved.

3). Whether or not Ashli Babbitt was unarmed is irrelevant. She was a part of a mob that posed an imminent threat to members of Congress.

Seriously, every time I see these arguments I wonder what they really wanted, for the officers to simply let the mob tear apart the congress critters? IIRC Mitch McConnell was one of the ones on the other side of that door. Although I suppose they were probably out for his blood, so...

I've had people tell me there was no intent to kill anyone. They just would have yelled at Congress critters.

Does that even sound believable?

They erected a gallows in front of the Capitol and chanted, "Hang Mike Pence!"

Imma go with no, that doesn't sound believable.

That's why I find it a bit amusing that people like Qbert, Tinfoil-Greed, ect. defend these people.

That mob had one loyalty, Zee Furher, any lawmaker caught that day was dead. Period.

Where have I seem paltry sentencing for insurrection failing to safe guard society….

“ In 1923, he attempted to seize governmental power in a failed coup in Munich and was imprisoned with a sentence of five years. In jail, he dictated the first volume of his autobiography and political manifesto Mein Kampf ("My Struggle"). After his early release in 1924….“

Maybe the reason is because there is no specific legal definition of insurrection.

So D'Felon is right about this one and it wasn't an insurrection?

D'Souza is correct that no one has been charged with insurrection (which is a Real Crime).

That no one has been charged doesn't mean it wasn't an insurrection; it means exactly that: no one has been charged with insurrection. And there political and prosecutorial reasons for not doing so.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Suranis wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:27 pm Read an article about Randy Quaid a few years back, and apparently it puts the blame on the massive change in him directly onto his wife, who was a whackjob before he married her. He started going right off the rails after they got married. There was an example of a broadway show he was starring in, and the guy was well liked by everyone, and totally professional. Then she decided to hang around and she pissed off every single member of the cast and crew to the point that the whole production fell apart. She accused everyone else of plots against her and attempts to kill her while wrecking rehearsals and attacking people.

I know this sounds like "blaming a woman," but she really seems to be a full scale nut who has driven him nuts along with her.

True Science Fact...

No one was charged with Treason or Insurrection following the ongoing tourist event from 1861 till 1865.

Them 50,000 folks who died down the street were just in town to take in the sites.

(including 8 men of the 3rd Alabama Infantry Regiment who died in my living room.)

So anyways, does that mean we didn't have a Civil War and all those statues we're taking down are just monuments to Tour Guides?
