I assume the attorney behind this is a NY Lawyer who apparently specializes in this. While there was a local Florida attorney who signed the complaint, the NY guy was listed as PHV pending so I assumed he was just acting as the local.

https://spencersheehan.com/

What I find odd about this is that Sheehan, who only started practicing in 2012, talks up a storm about class action suits but never mentions any that he has won. He does not even mention any that he has been involved with. I could run to Pacer to find out, but if he doesn't even bother to mention his successes, I don't want to bother digging to find them.

I have seen him referred to as the Vanilla Vigilante and the Pop-Tart attorney.

The Spanish coastguard has rescued three migrants who stowed away on a tanker that arrived in the Canary Islands from Nigeria by balancing on its rudder just above the waterline.

Much about this story doesn't make sense. The version I read earlier yesterday made it sound like the Bidens were targeted (saying it without saying it). First off, the Secret Service doesn't transport the First Family in Hertz rental cars. Sure, the Secret Service likely does rent vehicles for their agents use and the government is likely a direct bill contract. So few, if anyone, at the local Hertz should have known that the cars were for Secret Service agents.

So thinking the worst, some crazy nut decides to firebomb these five unoccupied rental vehicles parked at an airport. Why?

Or, some crazy mishap occurred with one car catching fire and it quickly spreading to other parked in close proximity.

It will be interesting to see the facts of what really happened when they come out.

One theory.
The official cause of the fire is still being investigated, but officials are focusing on the destroyed white 2021 Ford Expedition. The Expedition was subject to a recall because of a faulty circuit board in the battery junction box. The board is prone to shorting, leading to fires when the Expedition is parked and shut off. Sources told the Nantucket Current that the SUV was scheduled to be serviced, but had not been repaired.

Yes, if its an auto related engineering issue gone wrong causing catastrophic failure, it is your fault.
(except Teslas that burst into flames -- those are not your fault. Definitely not your fault.)

Trial begins two years after newlywed was beheaded by metal gate at Arches National Park in Utah

Ludovic Michaud was driving around the scenic red rock landscapes of Utah's Arches National Park on a windy spring day in 2020 when something unthinkable happened: A metal gate whipped around, sliced through the passenger door of his car and decapitated his new 25-year-old wife, Esther "Essie" Nakajjigo.

The tragic accident is now the subject of a wrongful death lawsuit Michaud and Nakajjigo's family are pursuing, in which they argue that the U.S. Park Service was negligent and did not maintain the gates at the entrances and exits to the parks, leading to Nakajjigo's death.

The lawsuit alleges that a simple $8 padlock could have prevented the gate from swinging, and claims the park violated regulations, CBS Colorado reported.

Opening statements previewed how the trial will hinge less on varying accounts of the accident and instead focus on Nakajiigo's biography and earning potential, which is used to calculate a portion of the damages. McGinn said if her life hadn't been cut short that Nakajjigo's trajectory suggested she would have gone on to become a nonprofit CEO who could eventually have netted an annual income in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, or even millions.

‘I have Prussians in my attic’: Surprise revelation leads to rare Battle of Waterloo discovery

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/prus ... -rcna67582
When the elderly man approached after Bernard Wilkin had given a speech on battlefield bones, it's safe to say that Wilkin was not expecting the man's opening gambit.

“You should know that I have Prussians in my attic,” the man told him, recalled Wilkin, an author and researcher, in an interview Thursday with NBC News. “I was taken aback by that."

Last week, forensic analysis revealed that the man was storing rare remains from the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte's final defeat to coalition forces led by Britain’s Duke of Wellington and Gen. Gebhard von Blücher’s Prussian army after dominating much of Europe.

“Basically he had them for decades,” Wilkin said of the man, who has chosen to remain anonymous and did not want the bones to end up in the trash after he died.

Wilkin, a senior researcher at the State Archives of Belgium, said the man approached him in November at a conference in the town of Waterloo, around 20 miles south of Brussels, Belgium’s capital.

Wilkin said he had just finished talking about how common it was for farmers across Europe to dig up and sell bones to the sugar industry, focusing on how the bones were used to produce a particular kind of charcoal that would purify sugar.

Estimates vary on how many died at the Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815, but the number runs into the thousands.

Many were buried in mass graves that were looted, plundered for bones for sugar production, Wilkin said.

Now that's a big boy...

High school freshman with size 23 feet getting custom shoes from PUMA, Under Armour
Eric Kilburn Jr. is getting a shoe deal and he’s not even a pro athlete.

He's a 14-year-old kid with feet that hurt from wearing size 22 shoes that are too small. Now, after media reports of his mother's desperate search to find him shoes that fit went viral, he will be getting proper footwear.

“It’s crazy,” Eric Jr., a 6'10 high school freshman and JV football player, said. “I mean, I am going to be in comfortable fitting cleats and shoes and I am astounded at the doors this has opened for me. I am excited to see where this goes. Thank you.”

Hometown Life, part of the USA TODAY Network, first reported the Kilburns' struggle in a story on March 16. Other media outlets have since written about the family's plight.
