I don't know if this is true but it would be funny as hell if the Republicans lost a house seat this way.

That is the US House of Representatives. I don't know if that could really happen, but if it could, the math helps the Democratic party rather well.

It is theoretically true (if they didn't count those votes), but it would mean ignoring the felonies of the Republicans behind this nonsense and disenfranchising all the voters in the county.

I don't think it would require ignoring the shenanigans of the county officials.

If they refuse to certify the results in time to allow the AZ SOS to certify the state's results, then they should just count the votes that HAVE been certified. It a court stops that, then AZ won't have ANY representatives in Congress, or a governor.

I see no reason that, if that happened, the county supervisors (commissioners? I don't remember what they call them in AZ) could still be prosecuted for malfeasance in office.

I won't speak to the nuances of the law in this case, but I think that an outcome that disenfranchised voters and flipped a House seat (plus the Arizona school superintendent) would spawn much greater problems.

Which I worry might be the point. If your whole platform depends on the idea of democracy being broken and elections rigged, the idea that whole swaths of patriotic red votes were ignored with a concrete benefit to the dems, that could be a powerful thing to rally around. These are not people who blame their own for their actions, but instead everyone else for not knowing their place and doing as told.

Remember the roast of the former guy, the one time he risked a visit to the WH Correspondents Dinner 2011, and Obama joked about the former guys greatest problem that gave him sleepless nights, eg who to fire as apprentice, the same night that Obama knew the raid against OBL was unfolding?
