I have to wonder is there that much of a market for flesh coloured band aids, particularly as blood tends to soaked through them with use, which kinda gives the game away that you are unfashionably wearing a bandage because you cut yourself LIKE A WEAKLING!!! Thou shalt not let others know that thou skin hast been perforated by unforgiving nature, lest their disdain sear thy soul!!!

I guess if you absolutely have to wear makeup over them?? You 'mericans...

Over here, Band Aids are Red. Even though my quick research says European flesh colours came out in the 50s, they definitely never took off over here. The dressings I use are pure white.

Anyway these Onetones came out in 2020 when Baron Fatkonen was on the throne tweeting, so saying its a 2023 A WHOLE NEW WORLD thing is wrong.

Not at all, really. For young kids, they may get band aids with cartoons characters. Adults-- they don't get custom bandages based on race or skin color. The USA may be nuts, but....

There have been 'flesh' coloured band aids for ever. And the 'flesh' colour was advertised as an advantage forever.

In the sixties, people started complaining that 'flesh' coloured band aids were not, in fact, the colour of their flesh, be it 'black', 'brown', 'yellow', or yes, even 'white'. Different skin tone band aids have been on the market for quite a while.

This is not a new thing; it is just a recent attempt to fill a market demand that was going under served.

No, we manly-man adults use Band-Aids that reflect our natural swaggering testosterone-laced existence. These display our strength and toughness, while sidestepping any potential racism issues.

Actually, I have Spider-Man Band-Aids in the bathroom. No, we never had children. But my husband was a Spider-Man fan. I'm not sure if we were together when we bought them or if I bought them on my own for my sweetie. The copyright on the box is 2003. And 6 of the regular size and 2 of the small size bandages were used. I like thinking about my 6'3" broad shouldered sweetie wearing a Spider-Man Band-Aid.

I think the idea is that bandaids that are closer to your own skin tone are less noticeable, thus not really a 'fashion statement'.

Good lord, do Earthlings still use primitive bandages?

Liquid bandages are transparent. No color at all.

Wonderfully woke, that. :smoking:

Every Band-Aid I put on before the advent of cool fluorescent greens and pinks was flesh colored. Every. One. Flesh colored. Every one.

Back in the day I worked at a carpet store. I mostly did sales but would go out on a job if the install crew was short handed. Those double edge carpet blades were incredibly sharp and the Roberts knives of the time lacked even a rudimentary thumb guard on the top. Cuts were just a normal occurrence and nobody ever used a proper bandage. You just grabbed a paper towel and the duct tape out of your toolbox, wrapped it up and got back to work. The main thing was to catch it quick enough that you didn’t bleed on the customer’s new carpet.

I find that nearly everyone on the bird site complaining about skin toned bandages are folks for whom regular bandages are already skin toned. FWIW.
