The AR-15 is all about intimidation.

Even one of the Kenosha vigilantes admitted under oath that he carried his pistol for personal protection. He admitted that the AR is good for target practice and that's about all he uses it for. Since he was a prosecution witness, and the prosecution was forced to use other vigilantes to testify against Rittenhouse, they did not just openly say "Ok, so basically you brought it either for intimidation or you were planning on having target practice in downtown Kenosha". But the point was made for any thinking person. If the pistol is for protection, and you believed you needed deadly force for protection, then why bring an AR at all? Of course it's all about intimidation. And also being able to mow down a large amount of people in case of feeling threatened by unarmed people who have a different political opinion.

Even if the DHS did only immigration stuff, which is super wrong, I would think that somebody who spent 20 years as an Assistant US Attorney which included acting as a trial lawyer for the feds at the Mexico border (along with some time in Puerto Rico) might be able to bring some knowledge and experience to the committee. Even being a federal prosecutor up on New York prosecuting gangs and drug cases would likely provide some extra useful experience.

Since MTG is not on any committee and is incapable of listening, it's not surprising she has no clue what makes a good committee person.

Nice to see you take the nimble, sporting approach. My boss often extols the virtues of heavy metal with lots of overkill (2,500 hours in BUFF's + 1,500 in Bone's). He was always worried that he might run out of ammunition if he had gone rotary wing.
