It's not the state of the educational system!!! Myself and many others were educated same system.

It is the endless media and social media propaganda and a bunch of lazy folks willing to buy into it so they can blame others for destroying their idea of what America was (bit wasn't) and making their lives bad (even if they're life is not bad but they have been convinced it is).

Oh, and racism.

Hmm, yeah! Why come Ds get investigated by Rs, but Rs get investigated by... Rs?

What is this? A two-tier system of injustice? ;)

GOP Rep. Shockingly Claims Her White Father ‘Was a Slave’
Decker later told The Courier Journal that because her father was born impoverished and that his family worked as farm hands on someone else’s property that essentially put him on the same level as an enslaved person.

“[My father] was a child and his family all worked there,” Decker told the outlet, implying that—heaven forbid—her father had to do chores as a child.

I’m pretty sure that if her family decided to pack up and leave said farm, they wouldn’t have been hunted down like dogs and beaten senseless. Or worse.

https://www.pbs.org/tpt/slavery-by-anot ... ecropping/
High interest rates, unpredictable harvests, and unscrupulous landlords and merchants often kept tenant farm families severely indebted, requiring the debt to be carried over until the next year or the next. Laws favoring landowners made it difficult or even illegal for sharecroppers to sell their crops to others besides their landlord, or prevented sharecroppers from moving if they were indebted to their landlord.

Approximately two-thirds of all sharecroppers were white, and one third were black. Though both groups were at the bottom of the social ladder, sharecroppers began to organize for better working rights, and the integrated Southern Tenant Farmers Union began to gain power in the 1930s. The Great Depression, mechanization, and other factors lead sharecropping to fade away in the 1940s.

15-year-old falls to his death on first day at roofing job, feds say. Now company owes

A 15-year-old plunged 50 feet to his death on his first day on the job at an Alabama roofing company, federal officials say.

Now, the company owes more than $100,000, the Department of Labor announced in a Feb. 7 news release.

Apex Roofing & Restoration LLC violated child labor laws by hiring the teen to work in a dangerous occupation, officials said. The Fair Labor Standards Act prohibits minors from working hazardous jobs such as roofing and construction. [not for long]

Missouri governor commutes prison sentence for ex-Kansas City Chiefs coach who seriously injured child in drunken-driving wreck
By Joe Ruiz - March 1, 2024 / 6:35 PM EST / CBS News

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson commuted the prison sentence for an ex-Kansas City Chiefs coach who seriously injured a 5-year-old girl in a February 2021 drunken-driving wreck.

Britt Reid, the former outside linebackers coach for the Chiefs and son of the team's head coach Andy Reid, had been sentenced to three years in prison. He had pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

Reid will be under house arrest until the end of October 2025 and have to meet additional conditions of probation, including weekly meetings with a parole officer, behavior counseling and employment requirements, the governor's office said in a statement obtained by CBS affiliate KCTV in Kansas City.

Reid was driving more than 80 mph in a 65 mph zone when his truck struck multiple cars near the Chiefs' stadium on Feb. 4, 2021. A girl in one of the vehicles, Ariel Young, suffered a traumatic brain injury, and several others were also injured. Reid also suffered injuries.

Reid had a blood-alcohol level of 0.113% two hours after the crash, the Associated Press reported. The legal limit is 0.08%.

My sister was involved in the Special Olympics when it was held in Ireland. In terms of rock hard sport it might have not been fantastic, but in every other way it was fantastic for the people involved. Basically, it does no harm.
