They were probably told 'replica' because it sounded better than to admit that Ripley's Believe It Or Not allowed her to wear the real thing.

I can't find it, but I read that she wore the original on the red carpet and changed to a replica as soon as she entered the building. (they also said she crash dieted to fit into it.)

Her skin tone wasn't right for that dress - on Marilyn, it looked like she was nude under it.

MTV Awards last night. My favorites:

Perry Mason, the TV Series has fabulous costumes by Evelyn Carruth. Courtroom costumes are something else. If you are at least middle class, you must wear fur and a hat. A fur hat is the most!
This is the penultimate outfit. White feathered hat with a white coat trimmed at the neck, cuffs, and bottom with white fur. Can you say "smolder in style"?

Also too, the MTV awards, the first one - I've always had a soft spot for the 50s long open skirt with slacks underneath.

I loved the little dude's matching outfit!

I nominate this one for Perry Mason. But I've always been a sucker for peplums (And hats. I wear a lot of hats, and that's a literal statement, not job-related.)

Love it, Slim! I love peplums too, also. Add some faux white or grey fur on the cuffs and on the hat and it might make "ultimate".

For best gown, I nominate this number worn by Carol Lombard in To Be Or Not To Be. The gown was designed by Irene (chef's kiss).

Same. I have many cool hats. My boys are all, "Please, Daddy, don't wear the bowler into a public restaurant!" But then some cute young waitress will say, "Oooh, I love your hat!" and I just smile.

I can’t link because I’m on my phone but there’s an article in the Guardian that says that the gown Kardashian wore of Marilyn Monroe’s was irreparable damaged the night Kardashian wore it. I can’t read the entire article as the page is really wonky.
