I love Porter's style but I don't think hot pink is a good color on him*. Deep purple, that would have killed it.

Love the concept but I just can't get behind the short pants. I don't care if it is the current style.

I'll never not like anything Lenny Kravitz wears.

Sorry, I don't know who the lady is in the sequined gown but she nailed it.

Parsons: Excellent.

Legend: The man knows how to fulfill a prophecy.

Just my arrogant opinion.

I am fascinated by the fabric in this dress and cape. I would change the neckline and reduce the leg slit, but otherwise I really like it.

Still scrolling but that's definitely the best so far. Wynona Judd looks great but what's up with mom?

Love Ms Edwards' jacket.

Carly Pearce's gown is nice.

LeAnne Rimes looks like she showed up in her best negligee.

Tenille Arts looks like she's ready to do the dance of seven(ish) veils.

Priscilla Block - Nice style, bad color choice.

MacKenzie Porter - Princess cosplay.

Dennis Quaid & Laura Savoie - Best couple. Love her elegant but simple black jumpsuit (?) Love Quaid's jacket. I love that mens' jackets are snazzier this year. Hope the trend hangs around.

Rissi Palmer - Nice black tuxedo suit with short skirt. My eyes are hurting after some of the other entries. I needed this one.

Ashley ShahAhmadi - Nice concept but something about the way the gown hangs bothers me. She has the figure for a tight dress but I think it should have been styled with more flow, punch up the train.

The guys run the gauntlet from cowpoke to high fashion but nothing really stood out for me other than Randy Dennis* Quaid's jacket. Just the right amount of flash.

*thanks for the correction.

FIFY - I suspect Randy is too crazy (colloquially, not medically) to figure out what a jacket is for...

What is that
thing
Miranda Lambert is wearing? Good God, gurl, couldn’t you find something that fit?

Love Caroline Jones’s flapper dress.

Queer Eye’s Bobby and Tan look cool.
Antoni and Karamo did their thing, too. I must say, Karamo’s surprised me in its quirkiness - ginormous vest, no shirt, and pant legs of different fabrics.

Where was Jonathan?

Love the color on Carly Pierce.

I've been a fan of Doctor Who for a while (since the reboot). But I've watched a lot of classic Doctor. Some outfits I've loved, some I've hated. Before debuting 13's new look for the spring special, I thought I'd do a rundown and get some feedback.

I LOVED #1s look. 2 was good. It fit the quirky character of the new guy. 3 was very Edwardian. I've always loved a good Edwardian suit (I remember the 60s, I was too young to get the full effect of the decade.) Of course 4 is my fav. I've dressed as him for a few comicons and it always went over big, even with the other #4s. Hated 5. Really hated 6. I called him Doctor Clown. 7 - meh. 8 - loved it. More Edwardian stuff. 9 - I always called Christopher Eccleston Doctor Bond. He reminded me of Craig Daniel. 10 - Loved it, especially the colorful high tops. 11 - Loved his original ratty professor vibe* but hated 3rd season's riverboat gambler look. 12 - Loved Capaldi's original mod suit but hated it when they tried to youth him up with hoodies and mismatched pants.

Ok, now to Jody Whittaker. I had such high hopes for the first female doctor. I wanted to design something along the lines of Annie Hall meets steampunk. But instead we got this juvenile Mork from Ork bullshit that made her look like a childcare facility escapee. Then I hoped there's be modifications. They did it before with 11 and 12. I've not gotten through her last season but so far not seeing any changes.

Which brings me to her final special episode. Finally, she has a decent outfit. Still not what I would have designed but oodles better than the Rugrats thing she's been forced to wear.

*and the fez. :lovestruck:

Tonight's the night!!!!!!
https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertai ... 614864002/
Met Gala 2022 exhibit: Regina King, Tom Ford, more directors define American fashion

Even for a legendary film director like Martin Scorsese, the assignment was a daunting one.

Take one of the famous American period rooms at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and make essentially a one-frame movie with no camera: a tableau, not a film, but using your cinematic sensibility. Your actors are mannequins, and the costumes have been chosen for you.

“Create a one-frame movie in a period room? A great opportunity and an intriguing challenge,” the director writes in a statement next to his creation, a mysterious mix of characters, emotions and fashion in the museum’s striking Frank Lloyd Wright Room.

Met Gala 2022:How to watch, everything to know as the stars take on 'Gilded Glamour' theme

Eight other directors are also putting their stamp on the period rooms, for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” the Met’s spring Costume Institute exhibit that will be launched with Monday’s Met Gala, opening to the public on May 7. Guests at the gala, which raises millions for the self-funding institute and has become a major fashion and pop culture spectacle, will be among the first see the displays.

If the new “Anthology” show is meant to provide crucial historical context, it also seeks to find untold stories and unsung heroes in early American fashion, especially female designers, and especially those of color. Many of their stories, Bolton said when announcing the show, “have been forgotten, overlooked, or relegated to a footnote in the annals of fashion history.”

I don't know if the Vogue article is done yet. I looked earlier and they had 62 photos there. Now there are 107.

Edited to add - yes, they're still adding photos to the Vogue site.

We will never not love what this punk pixie princess brings to any red carpet. No matter what the event, they will always be the one who looks like nobody else there. This oversize coat and ridiculously fun top hat are a reference to 19th-century New York socialite Evander Berry Wall, known as King of the Dudes. Yes, he dressed pretty much exactly like this. It’s such a fabulously original way to evoke the period and it’s so perfectly her that she’d pick one of the true oddballs of the upper class to pay homage to.

Agreed, but isn't posing what walking the red carpet is all about? I suspect many of them change after they walk the gauntlet.

Blake Lively’s dress is *chef’s kiss*. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more beautiful dress anywhere.

There were many I loved. Kim kardashiann was stunning in her Happy Birthday Mr President dress, darn it.

Cosmo won’t let me see any more unless I subscribe :rotflmao: but off to peruse other rags.
