I feel so much better about this election lately. I will always be thankful for Joe Biden, he's the best of men, a fantastic President, and we needed him in 2020, and I do believe nobody could have beat Trump except Biden at that time.

For 2024 we needed positive, youthful vigor. Harris made a great choice for VP, I love the small town vibe of Walz. I didn't know much about him a week ago, but I believe I see why he edged out Shapiro for VP choice for this particular year. Great choice!

By the way, both Harris and Walz were born in 1964, 18 years after DonOld Trump.

I agree with you, RVInit, but here's the deal - now the pressure is on for Harris to show she's in the same league as Obama. Not Biden, that's not a good comparison. She has to capture the magic of Obama in 2008, a thing that will make or break her. I think it will make her IF she ignores it.

There's going to be so much pressure to be charismatic. But here's the thing - If Harris was charismatic, we'd know by now.

In a week, the story is gonna be, is she a star? Or does she not measure up? And because she's a woman, she's going to be judged on meaningless details, and not the substance she brings to the table.

My advice? Screw charisma, and blaze a new trail, girlfriend. Tell 'em you're not here to be pretty, you're here to be pretty tough and you can do this job. That's the prejudice she has to overcome - SHE CAN DO THIS JOB.

If she gets that across, she can win big.

Walz was a command sergeant major. (Who then had to retire as a master sergeant because he never got around to going to the Sergeant Major Academy.)

A man in Virginia was arrested last week for allegedly making death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris, according to federal court documents.

Frank Carillo, 66, is accused of posting more than 4,000 comments to the social media platform GETTR, in which he threatened several public officials, including Harris, President Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, an FBI special agent said in a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Harris was mentioned 19 times on the account, according to the complaint, including several times in the days after announcing she was running for president in place of Biden.

The thing to stress when comparing Harris and Walz to Trump is the fact that both Harris and Walz were born in 1964, 18 years after Trump. Although both fall into the defined Baby Boomer generation, they're so close to the end of that period that I have no problem if the GenXers want to lay claim to them too.

Is that known or is it just wikipedia? His NGB22 has him retired as a CSM.

Saw it in at least one news article today, and heard it from miltwitter folks a week or two ago.
