Yeah, I'm not a turkey guy in my dotage, but the eye of round is in the crock pot and life is good ... except Numbah Two Son didn't make it, he had assignments and tests on Monday and decided to stay in Wilmington. Ah well.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. :oldman:

My brothers and I are have a bachelor's TDay. I'm making lasagna and Ceasar's salad. Bro #1 is bringing a store bought pie, and bro #2 is bringing beer and garlic bread. Should be good.

 for the music

This is the first Thanksgiving without my husband. This and Christmas were his favorite holidays, particularly the turkey and stuffing. I made a turkey and all the fixings on Tuesday for my son and me. Then yesterday, I worked on all the vegetarian/vegan sides that are going today to my family's with us. It will be a nice day, I think. We will miss him terribly, but we've tried very hard to include him by talking about him and remembering him as much as possible.

I'm sad, but I still am looking forward to being with the family this day.

I hope you all (y'll) have a great holiday! :bighug:

I’ll be heading down to my brother’s in a bit. My sister-in-law does a great Thanksgiving Day meal. It’s especially fun now because their family is growing. They have four daughters, ages 20 to 27. They acquired two sons-in-law in 2022. The third oldest daughter got engaged yesterday, and the first daughter who got married in 2022 is expecting identical twin girls in the spring. Fun times!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Hope you all have a terrific holiday. I commiserated with a barista this morning since he is working today. His reply: “I would much rather make double time than eat a dry old turkey with my trump-loving family, believe me.”

In the same coffee shop (7 am) a group of four oldsters ordered Americanos and when they arrived at the table, one of the old dudes pulled a liter-size bottle of bourbon out of a bag and topped up everybody’s coffee with about a jigger and a half. Let the festivities begin!

I’m not much of a drinker, really, but you can count on my being one toke over the line by the time we sit down to dinner with five cranky toddlers, et alia.

Had to wrestle with a partly thawed turkey first thing this morning but it turned out OK.

Grandson's first Thanksgiving. He particularly liked the mashed sweet potatoes.

Lovely and much-needed peaceful dinner with friends from the Egypt days, a couple from the younger generation, and their <ten daughters. Great company, funny stories, and simply the best food ever. Life is good.

Just before Thanksgiving, my son had a call to get to Sydney fast to see his dad. One of his sisters works for an airline & got him there fast. Son & Dad are having a good time together. No Thanksgiving back at home with his partner. We just ordered some dinner, but no turkey. But we're happy with chicken.
