Should be fixed now. The SSL certificate was right, but there were other DNS configuration issues that should now be fixed. It takes a few hours for DNS changes to propagate across the Intarwebz, so please be patient.

Sorry for any delay, I had a meeting of the State Executive Committee of the NC Democratic Party today.

Which is where they originally got the slogan "I don't belong to any organized party; I'm a Democrat!"

Half the SEC members are rural and don't have broadband. The other half has NO CLUE how to use Zoom, especially for voting on stuff. But there are 700 of us on the Zoom meeting. We were supposed to finish at 5:00 p.m. So far, that's been extended twice, and we're now set to end the meeting by 7:30. 'Course, it's early -- we could still have a couple more extensions. Hay, the next election isn't until November municipals, we have all the time we need!

On the bright side, the two biggest idiots in my county ran for party Chair, so I got to vote against both of them in one swoop. Awesome!

After two more extensions of time - for a total of 5, I think - we're set to close the proceedings at 9 p.m.

We started at 1 p.m.

On Chrome it will tell you it does not like unsecure sites. Then further down there is a button to urge it to proceed anyhow.

Only the SEC of the NCDP schedules a meeting for 4 hours and then it takes 9 hours to get to the end. I quit about 9 p.m., but at 9:30 I got a text:
"I know it's been a long day, but don't forget to vote for (name omitted) for 3rd Vice Chair!"
... and then they had to vote for Secretary, and I don't know who else. Jeazess H. Kreist!

Yeah, I don't think Stacey Abrams would have allowed that.

On the bright side, my nemesis here in Wake County, who is one of the world's biggest jerks, ran for chair of the state party, which he had no reason at all for thinking he might could be elected. And sure enough, out of more than 700 people, he got 13 votes.

And the only person I ever "fired" for being too crazy to be a volunteer at the State Fair booth, a lady who makes me wonder how anyone who can't even speak a coherent sentence could possibly be a licensed attorney, also ran for chair. She got almost 20 votes.

But it was a privilege to vote against both of them in one vote. Lovely.

Don't mess with a rooster in a fighting mood!

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/22/india/ro ... index.html

An Indian man has died after a tussle with his rooster -- on their way to a cockfight.

Rao, who lived in Pragadavaram village in southern India's Andhra Pradesh state, was a regular at local cockfights, and was on his way to enter the rooster in a competition when it tried to break free, station house officer Kranti Kumar said.

The secure version is still not working for me. I will try it again later.

The not secure version now requires me to login again every time I go to unread posts.

FYI I live for stories in which your county nemesis gets rebuffed. Don't stop.

I can't get to the secure site either on kindle fire or IPhone. The secure site just brings up the original message about the crash. No rush for response, Foogy.
