Probably could put this in some political thread, but:

It’s Florida and there’s a very stupid man.

John Kuczwanski killed in Tallahassee road rage incident
Tristan Wood
January 12, 20228min

Kuczwanski was arrested for a separate road rage incident at the same intersection in 2014.

John Kuczwanski, the Legislative Affairs Director for the State Board of Administration, was killed in a shootout triggered by a road rage incident in north Tallahassee.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office took one person into custody after the Jan. 6 incident, however that person has since been released and no charges have been filed, according to a LCSO news release.

The office issued an initial statement reporting a fatal shooting that occurred last Thursday, shortly after 5 p.m., near the intersection of Bannerman Road and Thomasville Road, following an altercation between two drivers. Thursday’s release confirmed Kuczwanski was killed in the incident.

The investigation into what occurred is still ongoing.

There are conflicting reports about what happened, though it appears events escalated to fatal violence following a traffic incident.

Sources familiar with details of the investigation told Florida Politics that Kuczwanski caused the auto accident that began the chain of events, and that he began the shootout that led to his own death.

The sources said the incident began after Kuczwanski’s BMW drifted out of its lane while heading north on Thomasville Road. That’s when the BMW hit a white Prius.

Both cars pulled into a parking lot. The driver of the Prius confronted Kuczwanski about hitting him, the sources said. The Prius’ driver then returned to his car to wait for law enforcement’s arrival after confronting Kuczwanski. That is when, according to Florida Politics’ sources, Kuczwanski rammed his BMW into the Prius on the driver’s door, and began pushing the car sideways in the parking lot.

Kuczwanski then shot a gun at the white Prius, according to the sources. The Prius driver drew a gun and fired back into the windshield of Kuczwanski’s BMW. Kuczwanski was hit and killed, according to the sources.

The driver of the Prius then exited their vehicle on the passenger side and took cover not knowing if Kuczwanski was about to fire back.

However, Kuczwanski’s wife, Rebekah Kuczwanski, said in a Twitter thread that her husband was a victim while confirming he lost his life. She claimed that he was trapped and “assassinated” and was trying to escape the person shooting at him.

Those comments were made on a thread, posted by Florida Politics publisher Peter Schorsch, announcing Kuczwanski’s death.

“He was on his way home early to pick us up for a farewell dinner for our daughter,” she wrote. “He called to say he was on his way to beat traffic. He was excited for dinner and to see us. He told us he loved us then never came home.”

The car drifted? Let the investigation show the guy was on the phone, or that he was texting at the moment....

From the Palm Beach Post: "Mariner had served roughly two years total in the Palm Beach County Jail over 2007 and 2012 on charges that included felony theft, burglary, cocaine possession, obstruction and violently resisting arrest, records show." So, sounds about right for him.
Saint Stinky @SaintStinky
He has refused to concede and has already filed lawsuits claiming ‘improper ballots’. The new normal, apparently.

She claimed that he was trapped and “assassinated” and was trying to escape the person shooting at him.
He t-boned the other guy's car in the drivers door but HE was the one who was trapped while the other guy had to crawl out of the passenger side? Yeah, right.

Well, its complicated.

You see, when they pulled into the lot to exchange information, they agreed they were going to sit and wait in each other's car, so while the BMW is damaged on the front where it T-boned the Prius, which had the crushed driver's side.

Perfectly plausible scenario.

I live in Florida. Let me tell you a story about my neighbor. Recently widowed, she took his old Ford coupe in to get ready to sell. She doesn't drive it much and got lost finding the shop so she hit her brakes suddenly as she realized she almost drove past. The idiot following her too closely almost hit her. Almost.

He followed her into the parking lot where he jumped out and started yelling at her, telling her he had two kids in the car who could have been injured had he rear-ended her. She was frightened so she apologized and tried to get into the shop. He wasn't finished. He then told her she was lucky she was a woman. Had she been a man, he would have shot the coupe up. Her first response was to reply, "With your kids in the car?" But then she remembered she was in...Florida.

So, yeah, down here every action is prefaced with the thought, "Will that asshole shoot me? "

I especially like the quotes from his wife, who wasn't there when he was busy ramming the vehicle of the person he was shooting at.

I am reminded of an airline tragedy several years ago in Lexington involving a Cincinnati based crew. Everyone on the plane was killed except the "careful and skilled" guy driving it, who was not the one who took the wrong turn, but still, look out the window, dude. The pilot's wife, friends etc.. were all interviewed for a story in the local newspaper and for some reason it just galled me that "he was such a careful and skilled pilot" who had managed to taxi to the wrong runway, not notice that it was 75 feet narrower than the minimum for the aircraft he was flying or that the big, 60 feet tall runway number was a 26 and not a 22. Or even that he only had to go 50 feet to the runway from the taxiway instead of 400. You probably don't think much about details like this, hell, most GA pilots don't, but an airline pilot with 70+ takeoffs from the airport he was at should have noticed these details. Ray Charles should have noticed the wings were hanging 15 feet wider than the pavement on each side.
Image

Hate to stomp on a dead man's grave but the fact is he was careless in a place that doesn't forgive mistakes and he killed 47 people.

Real careful and skilled pilot, though.

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Malik McDowell was arrested in Deerfield Beach, Fla., on Monday after police say he walked naked into a children's learning center and violently attacked a deputy.

According to police, surveillance footage shows McDowell, 25, walking naked onto learning center property while classes were in session. Details about the assault on the deputy aren't available, but the police report says it was a "violent attack" that left the deputy "dazed." Court records viewed by local station WPLG show that McDowell is being charged with aggravated battery of an officer, resisting arrest, and exposing his sexual organs in public.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Police Department are investigating a shootout that occurred Monday morning in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in northwest Miami-Dade.

According to a news release from the FHP, a black Toyota Venza and a black Toyota Camry were heading south on I-95 near Northwest 151st Street when they were involved in a road rage incident.

Troopers said the drivers exchanged gunfire and both vehicles were struck by bullets.

After the shootout, the driver of the Venza pulled to the right shoulder of the highway and called police.

Authorities said the driver of the Camry continued heading south and exited the highway at Northwest 125th Street before parking his vehicle and also notifying police.

The drivers were the only people inside their vehicles at the time of the shooting and neither driver was injured, troopers said.

Thanks! There is so much genius going on, including blowing out his own windshield and windows (and the idiotic way he handles the gun—cherry on top of the video of his own crime). Lucky no one was hurt, including people from other cars.

It’s unclear whether either driver will face charges.
 because Florida, they didn't hit each other, no harm, no foul, right? Seems like there would be some sort of law against this sort of behavior, hope they both get charged.
