An Iowa County GOP Chair has sent a Cease and Desist to Desantis’s Super PAC alleging they lied about bussing people in from out of state to a parade to act like they were local people supporting Desantis.

I hope the people of Florida realize how much DeSantis is screwing them and costing them big bucks.

SORRY, ELON
A bill revamping Florida’s process for purchasing state vehicles—which likely would have led the state to electrify its fleet—enjoyed rare bipartisan support in the state’s legislature. The only objector? Gov. Ron DeSantis, who hit the bill with an unexpected veto on Wednesday night, according to The Miami Herald. The Republican-sponsored bill, which had the backing of both environmental advocates and oil and gas interests, would also have saved the state hundreds of millions of dollars, according to some estimates. DeSantis didn’t immediately offer an explanation for the veto, but it came after former president—and DeSantis’ 2024 rival—Donald Trump took shots at electric cars at a speech in Michigan. DeSantis previously launched his campaign to dethrone Trump as the Republican nominee in a Twitter event alongside notable electric car mogul Elon Musk.

DeSantis’s stalling campaign: how to lose friends and alienate people
Florida governor launched his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential pick as Trump’s main challenger but finds himself sinking in the polls
Richard Luscombe in Miami
Sun 2 Jul 2023 11.00 BST
Among the books still available in Florida despite Ron DeSantis’s ongoing purge of “unsuitable” material is one the Republican governor might want to peruse.
Dale Carnegie’s 1936 bestseller How to Win Friends and Influence People would appear to be the antithesis of DeSantis’s stuttering push for his party’s 2024 presidential nomination, as Donald Trump’s closest challenger traverses the country turning off voters to his dull personality and extremist policies.
By almost every measure, the rightwinger has had another lackluster week on the campaign trail, with “clumsy” missteps in New Hampshire, Texas, California and New York. Now, barely one month after his glitch-ridden launch on Twitter, DeSantis finds himself sinking in the polls, closer to the large field of optimists below him than the twice-indicted, twice-impeached former president who retains a stranglehold over the Republican party.
“The more voters learn about him, the less they can stomach the idea of him running the country,” the online magazine Jezebel concluded.
There are competing theories over the reasons for DeSantis’s decline. Analysts caution that with seven months still until primary season, and with Trump mired in legal troubles, it’s far too soon to write him off.
“Primary elections are volatile and unpredictable. Don’t believe anyone who says they know how this is going to turn out,” said Stephen Craig, professor of political science and campaign expert at the University of Florida.
But it is clear that many of DeSantis’s wounds are self-inflicted. In New Hampshire on Tuesday, he angered grassroots Republican women by scheduling a campaign event clashing with Trump’s appearance at their flagship lunch, a “stupid” and “rookie” mistake in the eyes of Republican strategists.

He not only scheduled the same day as the GOP Women's conference, when they asked him to reschedule, he basically told them to Eff Off.
And the "Disney" firefighters "shot themselves in the foot" (their spox words) after losing their 10K raise. I'll see if I can find the link (it may be upthread) but something...something...firefighters were mad at Disney for not working with them on a new contract so they embraced DuhSantis mightily. Then they got played. Right before Disney lost control of their district, they gave the firefighters what they wanted, probably knowing it would cause all kinds of trouble in Tally. Sure enough, somebody couldn't keep their mouth shut and now all the firefighters want 10K raises, so now nobody's getting raises.
At least that's how I remember it. I'm sure someone will make any necessary corrections.

DeSantis lets go of more than a third of campaign staff as reset continues
The cuts, which were confirmed by advisers, will amount to a total of 38 jobs shed across an array of departments.

Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign is expanding the number of staff it’s cutting to include more than a third of his payroll as the Florida governor looks to get his primary bid back on track.
The cuts, which were confirmed by advisers, will amount to a total of 38 jobs shed across an array of departments. They will include the roughly 10 event planning positions that were announced several weeks ago, in addition to the recent departures of two senior DeSantis campaign advisers, Dave Abrams and Tucker Obenshain.
“Following a top-to-bottom review of our organization, we have taken additional, aggressive steps to streamline operations and put Ron DeSantis in the strongest position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden,” DeSantis campaign manager Generra Peck said in a statement. “Gov. DeSantis is going to lead the Great American Comeback and we’re ready to hit the ground running as we head into an important month of the campaign.”

Word on the bird X site is that the guy responsible for this ad was among those let go by the DeSantis campaign. He maintains that he had no idea it was Nazi imagery. Yeah, right. Worth noting is that Hochman has publicly praised notorious Jew-hater and tfg dinner guest Nick Fuentes.

Good grief.
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4 ... dc-or-fda/DeSantis floats RFK Jr. to run CDC or FDA
Florida governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that he would consider putting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for the White House as a Democrat, in charge of one of the major federal health agencies.
During an interview with Clay Travis, DeSantis said his views align with Kennedy’s on COVID-19 policies and the “corruption” with federal health officials.
“If you’re president, sic him on the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] if he’d be willing to serve. Or sic him on CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention],” DeSantis said in response to a question about whether he’d consider making Kennedy his running mate. “But in terms of being veep, there’s 70 percent of the issues that he may be averse to our base on, you know, that just creates an issue.”
Kennedy is a long-shot candidate for president, but he has increasingly been embraced by Republicans, including former President Trump, who amplify his contentious views as a way to try to play spoiler for the Democrats.

Loomer has a point. The candidate and the PAC are not supposed to coordinate, and this is just yet another example of DeSantis flaunting the rules.

DeSantis vows to ‘start slitting throats on day one’
BY JULIA MANCHESTER -
08/03/23 10:24 AM ET
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Sunday said he would “start slitting throats on day one” when it comes to taking on the “deep state.”
DeSantis made the remarks at a barbecue campaign event in Rye, N.H., hosted by former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.).
“We’re going to have all of these deep state people, you know, we are going to start slitting throats on day one,” DeSantis said.
This is not the first time the Florida governor has used the terminology. Last month, during an interview with the right-leaning outlet Real America’s Voice, DeSantis used the expression when talking about how he would change the hierarchy in the Department of Defense if elected.
“I think the idea that you take a flag [officer] or general officer who recently retired and put them as [secretary of Defense], I think it is a mistake,” the governor said.
“You know, they may have to slit some throats. And it’s a lot harder to do that if these are people that you’ve trained with in the past or that you know,” DeSantis said. “So we’re going to have somebody out there, you know, be very firm, very strong, but they are going to make sure that we have the best people in the best positions, and there’s not going to be necessarily prior relationships that would cloud that judgment.”
DeSantis has been hitting the campaign trail amid his campaign’s reset.

This man is deranged and demented. NOBODY uses language like that unless perhaps it's a vile street thug, let alone a pubic official. And he said the same before?“start slitting throats on day one”
