Five alarm fire as a Home Depot burns in South San Jose. It's been going for a couple hours now, and they're pretty sure they got everyone out.

Wow. The whole building in engulfed.

I imagine that some flammable Home Depot products like solvents, lumber and such helped spread the fire.

Yeah, it's also in a major shopping area, across the street from the Oakridge Mall, with several other big shopping plazas nearby. Also major traffic issues on days without fire as you're right near highways 85 & 87, it's on Blossom Hill Rd, between Santa Teresa Blvd. & the Almaden Expressway, all three major thoroughfares, and two light rail lines come together under the 85/87 interchange. South SJ was a mess last night.

The arrow below points at the Home Depot that used to was.

That’s smart. They’re bringing in water trucks to collect the thousands of gallons of contaminated water before it hits the Bay.

There's a Whole Foods about 3/4 of a mile west, same side of the street.

West of Fort Worth

Possum Kingdom resort destroyed by fire

https://www.texomashomepage.com/news/lo ... m=referral
Early Sunday morning, April 10, a fire broke out at Cliff’s Resort and quickly spread through the complex.

No injuries of guests are known at this time, and that could be due to a hotel worker who was reported to have been banging on doors and yelling, “FIRE!”

A firefighter with the Palo Pinto Lake Volunteer Fire Department said all available departments and tenders in the county responded to the fire.

Officials said they pumped water out of Possum Kingdom Lake to battle the fire.

Apparently, the vet next door is temporarily closed as they had damage from the fire.

About 50 miles SW of us.

The drought has eased a bit on the eastern side of Texoma (of course that came with tornadoes) but here on the western side things are just getting drier.

There's been an arrest in the Home Depot fire. Apparently arson to cover shoplifting.
The man suspected of starting a fire that destroyed a Home Depot store in San Jose earlier this month has been identified and was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, authorities said.

Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and public safety leaders held a news conference Tuesday identifying the suspect as Dyllin Jaycruz Gogue, who they say set the fire then tried to walk out of the store with a cart full of stolen merchandise.
He seems nice:
