#BREAKING: At this time Katie Hobbs is no longer the Governor of Arizona. Republican Kimberly Yee the state treasurer is currently the Acting Governor. The reason why is currently unknown at this time

From everything I'm seeing, it's an Acting-Governor-for-a-Day thing, maybe Hobbs is out of state or in surgery or something?

Arizona Constitution Article 5 Section 6 Paragraphs C and E

C. If a vacancy in the office of governor occurs with or during a vacancy in the office of lieutenant governor, the secretary of state, the attorney general, the state treasurer or the superintendent of public instruction shall, in the order named, succeed to the office of governor.

E. In the event of the impeachment of the governor, the governor's absence from the state or other temporary disability to discharge the duties of the office, the powers and duties of the office of governor shall devolve on the same person as in case of vacancy, but only until the disability ceases.

I'm not an expert on this one, but my understanding is that it would have let homeowners build additional dwelling units (casitas, essentially) on their land, HOAs regs and city codes be damned. Not surprisingly, the fire dept. is one group that came out against it.
