Some things are simply too fast, or too relentless to avoid. Like the North Carolina rain.

Or the future.

Setting off fireworks is illegal in our city but as midnight approaches I can hear some going off not very far away.

Not smart especially because it is so dry.

Anyway, Happy New Year!  :bunny: :cheer2:

Happy New Year! Rang it in with a sparkling cider, but now settling down with a rare (for me) alcoholic beverage: double apricot brandy on a brandy warmer (basically high end brandy heated by a tea light candle). The local fireworks sounded like  made on a StirCrazy, and lasted only slightly longer.

Still 3 hours, 30 minutes to go! But the fireworks began a few nights ago. Things are going to massively explode at midnight. We are big on fireworks in Hawaii for any number of reasons.

I used to give Ted doggie CBD so he was fine despite the noise. Mocha could care less. He did put a few toys under the bed, just in case I guess. I walked him around outside to see how he felt. But he's happy, as always. We'll probably go outside at midnight to see the fireworks.

Good luck to all of you. It's not an election year, so hopefully it will be fairly mellow.

2023 will be a good year to get rid of crap.

He wanted to walk again after 10 pm. He didn't care about the firecrackers noise, which is on going. He just wanted to walk around the neighborhood. Well. that's it for me - I'm tired. I might wake up at midnight....

The year 2023 will be even worse for Trump than 2022!

I was up at Midnight, but it was because I had to pee. It was a quiet night.

I hope this year is kind and generous to all of you. I am cautiously hopeful for a good year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It was a quiet evening here. We brought in fresh fish platters, had some wine. The guy three doors up mercifully kept his fireworks short.

Happy New Year from the Valley. It is starting off well--rain much of last week, and a small overnight drenching to ring in the year. Now the sun is out--haven't seen ole sol for about 10 days. Then rain and more rain starting Wednesday afternoon until who knows when.

And the lettuce is getting ready to harvest. And the asparagus is just starting to push out the new spears after about nine months of ferning. Onions and garlic look good. Now I just gotta prune the two apricots, the plum, and the two grape vines between raindrops.

✨ Happy New Year 2023!
I wish you with this illustration strength and courage against all the "dragons" who might be on your way in 2023. Can you see the numbers in the silhouettes?
