Agree, as there is no end to his past criminal actions and his continuing criminal actions. Maybe that's his theory, keep committing crimes so the government can never catch up.RVInit wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 1:39 pmPart of the problem is they can barely hear from another witness before uncovering even more crime. It could take years to uncover it all. I really do hope an indictment comes soon on the documents case though. I hasn't hurt him with the base, but apparently it is hurting him with Independents.

Yes. I would think obstruction of justice would have been easy to prove 5 months ago if not sooner. That seemed cut and dried pretty much way before the day Jack Smith was asked oversee these cases. And yes, we saw even with the Bundys I think they had superseding indictments.
Garland clearly did not want to do anything legal about this - before Trump himself told us Mar-a-Lago had been searched, not one peep had ever leaked out. That's in over a year and a half of trying to get Trump to give back the presidential records and classified materials. Not too hard to see that Garland was perfectly OK with sweeping it under the rug had Trump not busted everything wide open himself with his big mouth and legal filings. If not for that we would not even know this ever happened, IMO.

Given what we know about the status of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal investigation of Donald Trump’s classified documents crimes, here’s why we’d be well-advised to now be on indictment watch

Mike Flynn's original indictment included conspiracy to commit a kidnapping as well as other significant crimes. He was able to make a pretty sweet deal for himself to get all of it reduced to a simple "lying to the FBI" charge.
I'll believe it when I see it. And even if he is indicted there is nothing stopping the DOJ from making the same level of ridiculous deal as Flynn was offered. Maybe that was Rod Rosenstein stepping in and forcing Mueller's hand, but who really knows.
I have little faith that Trump will suffer much in the way of consequences for any of his criminal activity.

The first three MSNBC legal talking heads I saw on Twitter are all talking about plea deals, for example, TFG "being smart" by pleading to a misdemeanor.
That this is even a point of discussion sickens me.
I will be avoiding the so-called left-wing media today.

New: Trump lawyers Jim Trusty, John Rowley and Lindsey Halligan met with the senior career official in the Deputy AG’s office earlier today; Trump lawyers raised instances of what they viewed as prosecutorial misconduct in the Mar-a-Lago docs case, per ppl familiar.

From the looks of his face, he didn't get the plea deal NBC was hoping for.

A zillion stories about Trump case — but bottom line is he is getting charged and it will be in DC. And this week.
Open issues are whether others may be charged and whether they will be in DC or FLA.

An employee at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence drained the resort’s swimming pool last October and ended up flooding a room where computer servers containing surveillance video logs were kept, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
While it’s unclear if the room was intentionally flooded or if it happened by mistake, the incident occurred amid a series of events that federal prosecutors found suspicious.
At least one witness has been asked by prosecutors about the flooded server room as part of the federal investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents, according to one of the sources.

You wouldn't believe the amount of times I drained a pool into a server room when I was doing tech support.

From the CNN article cited above -
Nothing suspicious there!
So... the maintenance worker who helped move the boxes is the SAME maintenance worker who drained the pool.Prosecutors from the special counsel’s office have focused their obstruction inquiries around Trump, Trump’s body man Walt Nauta and a maintenance worker who helped Nauta move boxes of classified documents ahead of federal agents searching the property last summer, and potentially others, sources told CNN.
The sources say that the maintenance worker is the person who drained the pool that led to the flooding of the IT room where the surveillance footage was held.
Nothing suspicious there!
