His dad is a playwright in Australia, and I was picked up by a talent agency when I was in a community theater there. I spent some time in studios being a stupid American tourist in some tv series. We never encouraged him, but amazingly it's happened anyway. He loves being called to be an extra in a production or to model for a photo shoot.

Meanwhile, he's trying to save democracy.

David Attenborough's Netflix Series Reveals 'Secret' Colors in Nature
New camera technology shows the world as animals see it.

"Life in Color with David Attenborough" features the famed nature documentarian traveling from the rainforests of Costa Rica to the snowy Scottish Highlands to the jungles of West Gabon to explore the critical role colors play in animal interactions and survival.

The three-part series premieres on the network on April 22 to coincide with Earth Day.

When we set out to make this series, we were aware that this was one of those projects that would push the boundaries. Many animals see color differently to the way we do. Many birds, insects, and fish can see colors in the ultraviolet range, while some animals can detect polarised light and signal to each other with patterns that we can’t see.

The challenge we faced was showing the audience colors that are invisible to the human eye. To do so, we had to solicit the help of scientists to develop specialist ultraviolet and polarisation cameras that allowed us to film these secret colors. These cameras have given us a glimpse into a world long hidden from our eyes and allowed us to tell stories that have not been told before.

I'll have to watch that. I just watched a David Attenborough hour-long show last night on AppleTV about the change the pandemic made for animals in the last year, mostly good. I think it's The Year the Earth Changed.

Just looking at photos and came across this one. Last summer at the farm store the grand brats saw some Venus "flytraps" and just HAD to each have one. They were ecstatic when something was finally caught but distressed that was a little bee who was now going to die. They apparently thought the plants only caught flies, imagine that!

The bee did not survive and the kids no longer had interest in the plants, imagine that.

That looks like a wasp, not a bee. If it is, good riddance to it.

Well, it's a paper wasp which is not all that mad in my book. They tend to be solitary, and when I was stung by one, it was only because we inadvertently bumped into each other (it was not bad). One likes to hang out on my window.

Now, a yellow jacket, tell the venus to kill it and then kill it again. Go out and find yellow jackets when Audrey, er the Venus, says FEED ME. Yellow Jackets are sadists and they are best for feeding a hungry plant.

The image, by Canadian photographer Thomas Vijayan, is called The World is Going Upside Down. It beat 8,000 entries from around the globe to win the top prize of £1,500.

"Thomas's image is really unique, and immediately stood out to the judging panel," said Will Nicholls, founder of Nature TTL.

"The unique perspective and composition means you are immediately trying to figure out what exactly you are looking at."

Mr Vijayan took the photo in Borneo, where he selected a tree that was in the water so he could get a good reflection of the sky and create the upside-down effect.

Some beautiful images here....

Enchanted forests: British woods and moors at night – in pictures
The woods are lovely, dark and deep – at least in the images of Jasper Goodall. In Twilight’s Path, he stays awake to capture nocturnal landscapes in the forests and on the moors of the British Isles.

In my former profession I lived on one of the preserves I managed. Nobody around for miles. I used to walk around on the hiking trails at night and wander around looking at night blooming flowers, listening to the frogs, and had some amazing encounters with wild animals. Night time was my favorite time to be out there in the wilds with no other humans around for miles. Oh, how I miss that.
