Donald Trump Supporters Turn on Him Over Vaccine Defense—'Sold Out So Hard'

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-vaccine- ... es-1774392
A number of Donald Trump supporters have reacted negatively to the former president once again expressing support for the COVID-19 vaccine.

During a recent appearance on the conservative podcast The Water Cooler, Trump praised his administration for the Operation Warp Speed rollout of the vaccine and for helping save tens of millions of lives.

Trump refused to get drawn when host David Brody pushed the suggestion that the vaccines were not as "safe or effective" as medical experts said.

:snippity:

While sharing Alexander's original tweet, music artist and conspiracy theorist @An0maly, who has more than 240,000 followers, wrote: "He sold out so hard.

"He's the vaccine salesman. Sad. Truly. I loved the guy. He hired Pharmacy lobbyists, took meetings with Gates & then tap-danced for Big Pharma to roll out the new tech.

"The man is beyond out of touch & I honestly don't even think he's a good person anymore."

Agreed. Too also, you gotta propagandize the fuck out of everything you say, because that excuse is built on fear and lies. Gin the ladies up. Make 'em feel threatened.

Trump blasts ‘disloyalty’ of Christians not backing his 2024 campaign

Former President Donald Trump is adding evangelical Christians to his list of “disloyal” onetime supporters.

With his low-energy presidential campaign stuck in neutral, Trump blasted megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress and other Christian conservatives for so far failing to endorse his comeback bid for the White House.

“That’s a sign of disloyalty. There’s a great disloyalty in the world of politics and that’s a sign of disloyalty,” Trump told David Brody, host of the Water Cooler show.

The former president suggested that Christian conservatives should have quickly gotten on board after he announced his campaign in November, especially since he strongly backed their anti-abortion agenda during his presidency.

“Nobody has ever done more for right to life than Donald Trump,” he said.

It’s not the first time Trump has leveled the loaded “disloyalty” charge at onetime supporters. He has said Jewish Americans owe him their support because he sided with Israel and moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

Trump uses others merely for the results he wants. He stabs them in the back if they can no longer be of value.

Donald Trump prepares for his return to Facebook and Twitter
Trump's presidential campaign formally petitioned Facebook's parent company Tuesday to unblock his account, according to a letter reviewed by NBC News.

Mounting a comeback for the White House, Donald Trump is looking to regain control over his powerful social media accounts.

With access to his Twitter account back, Trump's campaign is formally petitioning Facebook’s parent company to unblock his account there after it was locked in response to the U.S. Capitol riot two years ago.

“We believe that the ban on President Trump’s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse,” Trump’s campaign wrote in its letter to Meta on Tuesday, according to a copy reviewed by NBC News.

Trump’s campaign didn’t threaten a lawsuit, as some sources close to Trump thought he would. It instead talked about the importance of free speech and petitioned Meta for a “meeting to discuss President Trump’s prompt reinstatement to the platform.”

Bolton says Trump's 2024 campaign is "poison" for GOP and will "continue to go downhill"

BY KATHRYN WATSON
JANUARY 26, 2023 / 5:07 PM / CBS NEWS

Washington — Former national security adviser John Bolton on Thursday called former President Donald Trump's 2024 bid "poison" to the Republican Party, and insisted the former president's reelection campaign is "going downhill."

And in a wide-ranging interview, Bolton told CBS News' chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa that he is considering his own 2024 presidential bid, prompted in part by Trump's claiming grounds last year for "termination" of parts of the U.S. Constitution.

Bolton, who has served in a variety of national security roles in Republican administrations for decades, also said Trump "behaved in a very erratic fashion" as commander in chief and failed to grasp "the gravity and the importance of the national security decisions he had to make."

Trump's 2024 campaign, which he launched last November, is going to continue to struggle to gain traction, Bolton argued.

"I think it's going downhill and I think it'll continue to go downhill," Bolton said when asked about the trajectory of Trump's latest presidential run. "I think Republicans, especially after the Nov. 8 elections last year, see that he's poison to the ticket. He cannot be elected president. If he were the Republican nominee, he would doom our chances to get a majority in the Senate and the House. I don't think he's going to be the Republican nominee."

When asked if he is seriously considering a 2024 run, Bolton told Costa that characterization is "exactly right."

Here's the dotard in NH cued up. Really low energy again. Hadn't watched the fool in a while, grievance after grievance and the theme was "April Fool's Day". It was really poor, even for him. He said more than once that RINOs were worse then Democrats. The only big ovation was near the end when he said "Live Free or Die" and after the applause, he seemed surprised like it was a new thing. :smoking: His platform is just going back to the same policies that made him lose in 2020. Worst thing ever for him: DULL.

Low energy. Cannot memorize his speech, cannot look at the audience while reading from his script. Holding a presidential campaign speech one year too early. "When I am back in the WH...." which would be a couple of years away at best.

Trump opens 2024 run, says he's 'more committed' than ever

MEG KINNARD, HOLLY RAMER and JILL COLVIN
Sat, January 28, 2023 at 6:23 AM GMT+1

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump kicked off his 2024 White House bid with stops Saturday in New Hampshire and South Carolina, events in early-voting states marking the first campaign appearances since announcing his latest run more than two months ago.

“Together we will complete the unfinished business of making America great again," Trump said at an evening event in Columbia to introduce his South Carolina leadership team.

Trump and his allies hope the events in states with enormous power in selecting the nominee will offer a show of force behind the former president after a sluggish start to his campaign that left many questioning his commitment to running again.

“They said, ‘He’s not doing rallies, he’s not campaigning. Maybe he’s lost that step,’" Trump said at the New Hampshire GOP’s annual meeting in Salem, his first event.

But, he told the audience of party leaders, “I’m more angry now and I’m more committed now than I ever was.” In South Carolina, he further dismissed the speculation by saying that ”we have huge rallies planned, bigger than ever before."

While Trump has spent the months since he announced largely ensconced in his Florida club and at his nearby golf course, his aides insist they have been busy behind the scenes. His campaign opened a headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida, and has been hiring staff. And in recent weeks, backers have been reaching out to political operatives and elected officials to secure support for Trump at a critical point when other Republicans are preparing their own expected challenges.

In New Hampshire, Trump promoted his campaign agenda, including immigration and crime, and said his policies would be the opposite of President Joe Biden's. He cited the Democrats' move to change the election calendar, costing New Hampshire its leadoff primary spot, and accused Biden, a fifth-place finisher in New Hampshire in 2020, of "disgracefully trashing this beloved political tradition.”

“I hope you’re going to remember that during the general election,” Trump told party members. Trump himself twice won the primary, but lost the state each time to Democrats.

Later in South Carolina, Trump said he planned to keep the state's presidential primary as the “first in the South” and called it “a very important state."

Trump Delivers Bitter Speech Filled With Falsehoods in New Hampshire

SALEM, N.H.— On Saturday, President Donald Trump pushed false claims about his own electoral losses and suggested foreign leaders shared his doubts about the outcome of the 2020 vote during his Saturday drop-by in the first-in-the-nation primary state.

Speaking to activists in southern New Hampshire, the ex-President revived his greatest hits as he joined his first campaign event of his 2024 chase of the Republican Party’s White House nomination and tested a new idea—that every day in Joe Biden’s America is a cruel April Fools Day joke.

“I think of the United States. Every day is April Fools Day,” Trump said. “We have open borders when they should be closed. It’s April Fools Day. … We have prisons—people from mental institutions and terrorists—being dumped into our country when they should not be accepted. April Fools Day, right? Who would do that?”

The event’s tone and substance suggested the looming two-year campaign is going to match—if not surpass—the toxic tone of his past attempts.

And it met a rowdy, welcoming audience in New Hampshire, a state Trump wrongly claimed he twice carried in a general election. (Trump lost New Hampshire in 2016 by one-third of a point and again in 2020 by 7 points, but did come out on top in the state’s primaries in those years.)

“As someone who has won the New Hampshire presidential primary not once but twice—and, by the way, I believe we also won two general elections,” Trump said to applause.

Later in his hour-long, stream-of-conscious remarks that seemed vamped, Trump said leaders from other nations were slow to call Biden with congratulations after he won the presidency. “They just didn’t believe it,” Trump said. “They didn’t believe the results.” (That is not the case, even as Trump refused to concede his loss.)

Trump visit: SC leadership team includes McMaster, handful of lawmakers attend campaign event

Maayan Schechter
Sat, January 28, 2023 at 10:52 PM GMT+1

Former President Donald Trump held his first 2024 campaign event in South Carolina Saturday at the State House.

Trump announces leadership team

Trump announced his 2024 South Carolina leadership team.

With Gov. Henry McMaster, the leadership team also includes Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette; U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham; U.S. Reps. Russell Fry, William Timmons and Joe Wilson; state Treasurer Curtis Loftis; former S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer; former state lawmaker and U.S. Attorney to South Carolina Peter McCoy; and Ed McMullen, Trump’s former ambassador to Switzerland.

Included in his remarks, the former president touched on electric vehicles, questioning the Biden administration prioritization of electric vehicles.

“Everyone’s gonna be sitting on the highway, and we’re going to be looking for a little plug in,” Trump said, tweeted by Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard.

South Carolina political leaders have pushed to expand electric vehicle manufacturing in the state.

Gov. Henry McMaster signed an executive order to lure more electric vehicle business to the state, and, in recent months, auto companies have announced huge investments to prioritize electric vehicle manufacturing. Recently, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette helped tout free charging stations at state parks.
