Back in April or early May I mentioned I was working on a book. This week I hit my goal of 75,000 words for it AND have 'finished' my first draft. I say 'finished' because I haven't written the full ending yet as I've got some significant changes I'll be making during the revision process, so I'm just going to write the ending once I've made those and know what they'll do to the rest of the story. But for all intents and purposes, I'M DONE WITH MY FIRST DRAFT!!!!!

Now I get to start working on my NEXT book while I let that one percolate for a month or so, then go back, read it again after being away for a bit, cry over how awful it truly is, and fix the damn thing. :thor:

Congratulations. A lofty achievement writing the first one! Are you finding it difficult to plot line the second one?

Thanks :) The main difficulty I'm having with plotting the 2nd one is that I have too many ideas. It's set in the same world as the first one, but it's a totally different plot line, so I can go wherever with it, but that's the problem. I keep coming up with new ideas I want to write about, but don't really fit the theme of what I'm trying to do with this one. I think I'm just going to have to set some of them aside and hope I've got the steam for a 3rd one :D

I could really use some good vibes, prayers, energy or whatever right now.

A couple weeks ago I started having some unexpected post-menopausal bleeding, which isn't supposed to happen, and apparently can be a *very* big (cancer) deal. Everything I saw online said if it even happens once to talk to the doctor, so I did, (and he confirmed that was an appropriate level of concern) and he said he'd send a referral to the local hospital's Ob/Gyn department for me to go in and get some tests done, most likely including a biopsy. It's been a week-and-a-half since I talked to him and I haven't heard from the hospital yet (so I'm getting back in touch with them today once they open.) The doctor told me that the longer it's been since menopause, the more likely it is to be something serious, and it's been about 20 years for me.

In addition to just the general scariness of the situation, there's going to be the problem of getting me to and from the hospital. Because of my size, I have to use the bariatric ambulance to transport me there and back, and moving me is going to be difficult because of how easy it is to create pain in my shoulders and knees.

I"m really nervous about what's going on, and about how we're going to get me there and back once we get an appointment set up. As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I did get the first draft of my first book finished, but the worry is making my depression worse and I"m finding it harder to work on my next project, and this writing has really been sustaining me for the last few months, so I really can't afford to lose the ability or drive to do that.

Thanks
