My husband was diagnosed with skin cancer yesterday

Post by sad-cafe »

Well Mark has skin cancer-again this time they didn't get it all

he has had it before but they have been able to go in and cut around it to get it all. He has several places where they have taken chunks out with clean margins.

But not this time.

On Monday they took a pretty good piece out of his hand. We are waiting on pathology............well not any more.

they want to go in again to see if they can get more of it and if not discuss the next moves............

I'm so sorry but they've made great strides in melanoma treatment over the years. Sending good thoughts your way.

Yes, :bighug: big hugs to you and hubby. My MrD has had lots of little cancerous spots removed over the years, mostly all with clean margins, he did have to go back for a couple of them I think but it's been years ago now with no recurrences.

ETA... He does go back to the Dermatologist every year for a check up and she freezes bits from time to time but he's very good about going for his annual followups

Sorry to hear that. We've been through it. Mrs didn't have melanomas, but she did get a subscription to Surgery of the Month Club in the late 90's which was no fun at all. Big hugs and best wishes to you both.
