My next door neighbor is having a Grateful Dead cover band at a party for cancer patient friend next week.Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:01 am A while back, in another thread, I'd mentioned that I've switched my Sirius channels from 24/7 news to the Grateful Dead channel because the news has gotten to be too much. I'd first heard this song on Harry Belafonte's Greatest Hits but the Dead played it quite a bit in concert and it's really grown on me. It lightens the mood.
This is a live cut so it takes a couple of minutes to get rolling. And no disrespect meant to the guys, it's just a fun song.
I just lurvs me some Jerry Garcia water guitar.
Now I regret not picking up that tie-died face mask I saw the other day.
Has everybody heard about the bird?

From Alex Lifeson's new bad "Envy of None". It doesn't sound much like anything Rush ever did - much closer to electronica than prog. I really like it. Oh, and the singer here is MUCH better than Geddy

I appreciate Neil Young, but he ain't Warren Haynes (or Tim Reynolds):

The Unplugged series of shows was very good good (back when MTV was music TV). I scored a couple of courtesy tickets from WB Music back in that era for a different act. You could not buy those tickets.

Throw in some Rick Derringer:
Re: Music Free-for-all
I worked for a major computer company in the 1980's. It had tickets for major events in WDC. No one wanted tickets to see Springsteen, so I got them!
He was headed to Europe, AND I got tickets to his return!

My nephew has released an EP of funk-pop music under the name Fillerhook. Available on various platforms, including youtube. No band members, he did everything on it himself. It's not really my thing style-wise, but check out the infectious chorus on this tune. It may become your ear worm for the rest of the day.

And, Notaperson --- Thank you for sharing your nephews music.
Re: Music Free-for-all
Repost from FB 1.0 'cause it's fun. (and Ellen comes randomly roaming onto the set ... )
Re: Music Free-for-all
Notaperson, your nephew is talented. I would also say this isn't particularly my style of music, it's clearly well done. Thanks for sharing this, I will put his YouTube channel on my subscription list so I can check out further releases.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

Third row seats last night to see Carl Palmer, drummer for 70's progressive rock gods Emerson, Lake & Palmer at the Ridgefield Playhouse, a 500-seat theater in the leafy enclaves of Connecticut. He clearly enjoyed performing and the show was great!

Tell him he's very good. It is close to my cuppa tea. Quite listenable. I'll give him a like on the YT. With enough people, he'll get a pittance from them eventually. That's how you get it done these days.Notaperson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 1:23 pm My nephew has released an EP of funk-pop music under the name Fillerhook.
