Swordswoman?

I have said this before, but it's his 94th birthday. My dad is in the US Naval Academy Sports Hall of Fame for fencing. Captain of the team, they were runner-up in the NCAA championship in 1948, and he won the individual championship in Épee.

Two of Dr. Vicklund's aunts were diagnosed with breast cancer this week and have had lumpectomies. One is her father's sister and the other is the wife of her uncle (mother's brother) that passed away last fall.

On a wee bit happier note, my eldest who's suffered from Absence Seizures (petit mal seizures) her entire life (10-50 a day) made assistant manager at the store she works at.

So sorry to hear this. It's a tough row to hoe. They discontinued my chemo and immunotherapy treatments after it put me in the hospital twice. Double mastectomies scheduled for Wed.

I just use your first name, she knows I don't know anyone else by that name these days. She likes to keep up with the people she knows I really respect and admire.

I hate that this is happening to you, my friend.

I had a very young friend choose a double mastectomy even though her cancer was in one breast. That was twenty years ago. She is alive and kicking.

You can do this, sugar! We will all be thinking of you throughout this week and next.

I just got a text from my mom. My sister is in the hospital with an infection. My parents were already on their way out, arriving tomorrow to help take care of Valkyrie. A bit more help than they were planning on, though they certainly won't begrudge it.

to all (Sugar, my mom had a radical mastectomy 15 years ago and is now cancer free. It sucks, but can be life-saving. Hope you have a similar outcome!)

Hubby's mom accomplished her death journey at home on April 29, 2022, exactly nine months after being admitted to a hospice program. As Hubby says, "She birthed me." I say, "We gave her the death she wanted and deserved with little, if any pain, on her part and at home." It was a sacred experience for Hubby and for me. We became closer being Team Charlotte. She was a truly good woman who deserved to die as she wished.
