They're already talking about a final solution for the Ukrainian problem.

Genocide.

It certainly looks like the Ukrainian armed forces outsmarted the Russians again, this time in Severodonetsk.

Ukrainian forces pretended to retreat and then split the Russian offensive with a really well-executed counterattack, forcing a Russian pull-back and many casualties.

Seeing a lot of this, and have to say:

Journalists, love you all, but many of you shouldn’t be writing explainers on Donbas.

There’s a lot of nuance on any battlefield, and that’s difficult to encapsulate if you don’t know what you’re looking at. 1/2

I’ve spent the last few days reading about how the tide has turned in Russia’s favor. I hope Ukraine sustains this.

If you don’t know the difference in a tactical withdraw and a retreat, that’s fine.

What’s not fine is writing articles that badly explain the reality on the ground. People trust you for information, and it’s important to get it right.

We're okay with that. Let's meet up in Munich and plan it out.

there are some rumors in the twitter verse that Russia’s latest advance has stalled and is being actively counterattacked by UK.

Apparently the latest Russian offensives were undertaken by poorly trained and under equipped conscripts from Donbras.

Story I heard is the Russians mistakingly think that all the Russian speakers are actually Russians and are on their side. But the Tzars and the Soviets spent 150 years suppressing Ukrainian, so Russian is baked into the system. Everyone speaks Russian. And Many speak both and many speak Surzhyk which is a kind mixed dialect.

Anyway even ethnic Russians in Donbas, are pissing on the invaders, they ars not winning hearts and minds.

Longer range than what we have agreed to provide, or is this threat tied to the new deal?

Guess I could have just read the article. The threat is if we deliver on the agreement.

Rather worryingly, Ukraine is claiming to be nearly out of artillery shells, and EU suppliers to Ukraine are also running low.

This is an area where Russia can probably replenish faster than, well, anyone else on the continent. Artillery warfare is kinda their thing.

Things I remember aboot this dillweed. 1) He said last month that Hitler descended from Jews and that Israel was supporting Nazis in Ukraine. 2) He was one of the guys tfg shared Israeli intelligence with that wasn't tfg's to share, to Israel's considerable chagrin.
