That idiot Ted Nugent claims he's rolling all the way with them in his stupid zebra striped Bronco.

A protest convoy hopes to reach D.C. in time for Biden’s SOTU address
And a group once focused on baseless election fraud claims is helping to raise funds for the cross-country action.

Organizers of a U.S.-based protest convoy say participating drivers will be on the road next week. They aim to arrive in Washington, D.C., in time for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address before Congress on March 1.

Behind the scenes, the U.S.-based effort, inspired by the one in Canada, faces some of the same challenges that have bedeviled Canadian protest leaders: raising funds and organizing support online.

U.S. organizers of the “People’s Convoy” are directing supporters to donate via a Boston-based nonprofit founded last year, which previously focused on baseless vote fraud claims from the 2020 election.

Lawyer Christopher Marston founded the American Foundation for Civil Liberties & Freedom in April 2021. Almost as soon as the group was created, a Grid review of AFCLF’s history shows, it started spreading unsupported claims about the results of the 2020 presidential election. In July 2021, AFCLF promoted a fundraiser in California for an effort to investigate debunked claims about votes in Antrim County, Mich.

Why are they starting in Barstow anyway? The only good thing there is the McDonald's.

Well, that's all I ever stopped there for on the way to LA or San Diego.

Actually, now that I think about it, that's where a bunch of highways come together.

Duh.

Carry on.

Oh, I see. This is a good protest. Black Lives Matter was a bad protest. Funny how that works.

I'll have to post one of these articles I've been reading, but these doorknobs are all about how they "aren't far-right, aren't far-left, just down the middle because it's something ALL Americans are concerned about." :rotflmao:

Dream on. And then the they start quoting NewsMax.

ETA:
:snippity:
Long-haul mission
The group's mission statement says, “Americans love our freedoms and love the Constitution of The United States of America. This convoy aims to bring back our freedoms, our civil liberties, and bring an end to all unconstitutional mandates.”

The mission statement continues by explaining how the People’s Convoy is about rights and future generations' freedom.

The organization states that the convoy is not about political parties, “But more so about a government that has forgotten its place and has no regard for our founding fathers' instructions, The Constitution.”

On Newsmax
TV's "The Balance," host Eric Bolling spoke with organizers of the convoy, Brian Brase and Steele.

Brase emphasized that the protest isn't a far-right or far-left issue. He said it's an issue that every American citizen should be fighting against.

The Newsmax video also included pilot Josh Yoder, the founder of the U.S. Freedom Flyers, who said his group was supporting the People’s Convoy.

Yoder said the airline industry faced “totalitarian orders” from companies, which mandated that “We get the jab or lose our jobs.”

“We stood up starting back in August, and it was very effective in our industry,” Yoder said. “The truckers and the doctors came to us and asked us if we would support the movement.”

Found on the group’s website, The Truckers Declaration declares, “WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND WE STAND TOGETHER UNDER THE BANNER OF FREEDOM – FREEDOM IS THE ONE THING THAT UNITES US ALL. LIBERTY FLOWS THROUGH ALL OF OUR VEINS.”

Authorities consider reinstalling fence around Capitol ahead of possible convoy protest
The fence is the same barrier that remained around the Capitol for months after the Jan. 6 riot and during the “Justice for J6” rally.

Authorities are considering reinstalling a fence around the Capitol ahead of a possible trucker convoy protest during President Joe Biden's State of the Union next month, officials said Friday.

The fence is the same barrier that remained around the Capitol for months after the Jan. 6 riiot and during the “Justice for J6” rally.

In a statement, a Capitol Police spokesman said the agency was working closely with the Secret Service on a plan for the March 1 speech.

“The temporary inner-perimeter fence is part of those ongoing discussions and remains an option, however at this time no decision has been made,” the spokesman said.

Phuck it, just move the government to Cheyenne Mountain, put an Air Assault Brigade and regiment of tanks out front, give it all weather air cover and leave Washington for those of us who only want to see the Smithsonian and have a decent steak for dinner.

Here’s a list of donations being requested. There’s a couple of drop off places here in Las Vegas. I guess the participants will have to bring their own French vanilla creamer. ;)

Any bets on whether or not they even have the permission of the owners of that stadium to use their parking lot as an overnight staging area?

Is it even legal to stay overnight there?

Looks as if the only thing missing from a list of needs suitable for the homeless is vehicles, hope they’ve got some.

Pop tarts
beef Jerky
Cookies and chips
Canned fruit salad

No fresh fruit? Oranges are good for protests.
No Metamucil? Dudes. You’ll be sorry.
No trash bags? What are you going to do with all those plastic food packages when you’re done? Leave it for someone else to clean up?
Oh, right, duh.
