They're driving all the way from Portland back to DC to just go in the city once? Did the convoy know this before they left OR?
All the convoy knew was that they were going to DC. There was no official plan shared publicly until 3-4 days ago. Frankly, there was no plan to share.

There are several groups in the convoy:

1. Leaders, truckers, and convoy elders (have been with the convoy a long time).

2. Livestreamers.

3. The average poor schmuck that joined thinking something would happen.

Group 1 makes the decision, organizes camps and events, and handles the money.

Group 2 follows and streams everything. They live better than the rest of the convoy. They collect donations during their streaming and those donations are not shared with the convoy. (Leaders are livestreamers.)

Group 3 does what they're told. These folks are too poor for decent food and motel stays. They usually sleep in tents. Their fuel costs are paid for, but that's it. Many have driven their cars into the ground. Sadly, there are children in Group 3.

I have a feeling they are itching to run people over. Thats the best way to end the Convoy with a bang.

Fellow convoy leader "Santa" agrees, saying the group will enter the city only once.
The convoy is broke. I'm sure Santa knows that. So what better way to end the convoy than to blow your final fuel bill on a charge at the capitol?

These are dangerous words at a dangerous time.
This.

The convoy’s last campsite is in OH. They are staying there on the 15th and then driving somewhere nearest DC.

I don't know if they've raised enough to prepay a speedway to let them camp. It is very possible that they have.

My guess: they'll stay at a truck stop on the nights of 5/16 & 5/17. Perhaps they'll send people home on 5/18.

Once the convoy gets some people into DC and epic fails, they have nothing left to do but drive in circles and honk in DC. There's been some chatter about shutting down the beltway or interstate. They have the numbers to do that. But they're down to approx 10 bobtails.

But I've been wrong many times.

Sat eve meeting:

*Broken pelvis guy back. He's in a wheelchair. He's going to stay with the convoy. Idiot just had surgery to repair 3 pelvis fractures. His tailbone is also fractured.

*Leaving at 6am tomorrow. Headed to Burbank.

*Seperating into several convoys because they can't keep themselves together as one convoy.

*Rally at 6pm tomorrow.

*Fuck. I-30 is full of construction. No friends will be made on tomorrow's drive.

*They're trying to drive around toll areas.

*Ohhhh. Place locked in for DC. They won't say where. Donations came in to pay for the location.

The end

Just drove I 30 across Arkansas. Didn't see all that much construction on those weekdays.

Probably was US-30 which goes through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, etc. If I was avoiding the tollway/I-80 without going too far south, that is probably the route I would take. Even without skipping tollways, it can sometimes be faster to jump off of I-80 at Joliet and take US-30.

As for construction, welcome to the midwest in spring/summer/autumn.

If I were driving from Iowa to somewhere WV/MD, I would have probably taken I-74 to Indianapolis and I-70 through Ohio. It avoids all the mess around Chicago and northern Indiana.

Convoy car accident!

The fake firetruck hit a convoy car. The car driver's brake lights weren't working. Car owner asked a convoy mechanic to repair the brake lights but the mechanic said they didn't need fixed. Translation, I'm really fucking overwhelmed.

The battle of the mechanics has intensified.

Uh oh. 1st Responder is down! His front wheel is shaking. He needs a new axle. 1st Responder drives a car.

He's asking for donations for 3-4 nights in a hotel.

If his car isn't fixed in very soon, he'll miss DC. 1st Responder is the "official livestreamer" of the convoy.

These are the horns he put on his convoy.

The ambulance rear ended a convoy member previously IIRC. I watched the morning meeting the next day and they did several minutes on watching the car in front of you, not the car behind you. I guess it didn’t stick.

Wonder why they're spending so much time watching the car behind them. Do they still think the roads are full of Antifa secret spy cars that could attack at any moment, like they did when they were in the DC area previously?

The Trucker Convoy Will Return to Hagerstown on Tuesday
The Hagerstown Speedway says it expects 15 to 20 trucks.
Published on May 16, 2022
https://www.washingtonian.com/2022/05/1 ... n-tuesday/
Reached by phone, a representative of the speedway said the track expects about “15 to 20” trucks for a “week or two” and that they weren’t sure whether any other vehicles would be joining them. The trucks will be parked out back in an old stone area that the rep said should be okay for truck parking despite the recent rains and didn’t expect the convoyers to affect “everyday business” at the speedway, which has events scheduled for May’s remaining weekends. An unrelated “Monster Truck Invasion” is scheduled for July.
:snippity:
One convoy leader gave a speech earlier this month to complain about how people in the DC area “laughed at us, you made fun of us” but said they were coming back regardless. Last night, a leader reportedly addressed the trend of people in cities the convoy visits tossing eggs at the group: “I happen to like eggs,” he said.

The menu for an event to welcome the convoy to Hagerstown does not appear to include eggs, but an organizer asks for donations of 300 hamburgers and 300 hot dogs, plus 400 plates and assorted salads, chips, and drinks.

That jibes with what I saw from the convoy. They claimed 12 trucks, then X-Ray rejoined with "several" more, so 15-20 trucks sounds about right. They are also claiming a total of 120 vehicles, including the fake firetruck and school bus, with the balance all being regular cars and SUVs. Wonder where those folks are planning to settle down?

What, no one’s donated a fake tow truck to the convoy yet? One or two ought to keep ‘em moving for a few days.

Yeah, umm ... so they came to Hagerstown in March, and I went up to the Beltway to see my dad and couldn't find them.

I left, then they left.

Now they're coming back and I'm ... coming back too! :cheer1:

Friday morning, bright and early, ol' Wifehorn and I will be heading up there for a few days.

See ya there, convoy morons!
