My husband would have totally loved that. It would have made a perfect Valentine's Day gift!

This was fun. I loved the doggie helping out. When I used to garden and Poohie was still here, she would lay a few feet away from me in the garden. Every now and then as I got a little further away, she would get up and move closer and lay down and nap again.

That's beautiful. His time and skill says it deserves a $1000 price tag, probably more.

That didn't look like a decent bit of firewood and that fellow made something beautiful out it.

I want to know who makes all these custom Lego pieces. I never saw anything like these bits in my kid's kits.

I was wondering that before. My use of a lathe is limited to shop class in 7th and 8th grade, but when I built a lamp in that class, I somehow recall that we rounded off the corners on a band saw (based on the width specified in my plans) before turning it. If not, it would have been wack, wack, wack, every time I hit a corner. That hydra of a root, I can just imagine.
Granted, this guy is a tad more experienced so probably knows how to use the tool much better.

I'm betting it can be a real workout as the knobs hit the chisel. I'm amazed the piece doesn't explode on him as he carves out the center. He definitely knows what he's doing.
