WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Students at Stucky Middle School skipped their first class of the day Friday as a form of protest after a teacher allegedly made comments to a student that others perceived as racist. Students spend their first hour at school in the cafeteria, voicing concerns and speaking out against racism.

Eyewitness news spoke with students who were in that classroom Thursday when the alleged racist comments happened and protested Friday.

Stucky student Jamiah Scott-Murphy said she is still in disbelief that one of her favorite teachers could say what she heard.

“[The teacher] has like a cotton plant on her cabinet and a kid asked if it as real. And she said, ‘no, it’s not real. I got it from Hobby Lobby, but I’m running out, so go in the field and pick me some more.”

I 10000000000000000% believe she said this.


Back in 16 when I missed those months because of the crohn's and then C-Diff I had the "crapped my pants" in front of my students.

I was gone from Nov-March.

She told all of my students that I quit


When I came back I was walking down the hall and there were pencil shavings all over the floor-it looked like blood from my vantage point.

I asked her (who was still pissed that I came back) what was on the floor-she told me to my face "I had to shit and didn't make it to the bathroom" Exactly what had happened to me.

so yes I wholely believe she said this!!!

I am so glad you left, too. That is shocking and disturbing.

I absolutely think the teacher said this.

Students are smarter than we give them credit for. They aren't likely to pull shit like this without reason. It's possible this didn't happen. But it's extremely likely that she did.

Sad cafe, I'm sorry this teacher bullied you. What a coward.

May I ask why she was pissed that you returned to classes? And were the students kind to you upon your return?

I have a number of teachers from my youth that I appreciate/honor. This one would not have been one of them.
