Dogs!
Re: Dogs!
We've been to some kennels where they raise the dogs. They love to have people stop by and cuddle the puppies to help "civilize" the puppies and give them attention. I think the ones we stopped at were in Willow.
We also went dog sledding once when we were there in the winter. We were surprised to see when the trucks with the dogs started unloading, the dogs looked like your average-size mutts. But they were true sled dogs. They were so happy to be there and couldn't wait to get hooked up to go. It was sooooooooooooooo much fun.

Re: Dogs!
I am so glad you adopted Ted. From all your postings about you and Ted I totally believe he has been a blessing to you and you have been a blessing to him. You were meant to be together, that is for sure.
I am so happy Ted is back safe in the house. I was concerned to see the post that you fell. I have been way too busy this week to read much of Fogbow postings during the day. Usually I drop in several times a day for a couple minutes here and there. I hope you are not hurt from the fall.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

Lani and Ted. It was in the stars for them to be together.

Re: Dogs!
J/K, you know I love you ... but it would be nice to hear that Lani's injury is OK, and that Ted is OK (I love his talks).
I mean, I like bamboo too, and there's a patch of it on my daily walk. Gorgeous in a snowfall, I bet Lani doesn't get a lot of snow in her back yard.
But it's unusual for a dog to hide in a bamboo patch and refuse to come when called by its owner. I have a ton of experience with dogs from my prior life before marriage, and that's something a dog just doesn't do unless there's a reason. Dogs want to please their owners, not make them get cut and bleeding trying to save their dumb butts. Mumb dutts. Bum mutts.
Woof.

Edit: And where, I'd also like to know, was the neighborhood 10 year old boy? Lotta people have little use or affection for 10 year old boys, think they're not good for anything. Not easy, bein' a 10 year old boy.
But a 10 year old boy is practically designed for getting a dog out of a bamboo patch. That's when they really get a chance to shine.

Re: Dogs!
We're ok. The bamboo forest is very dense and difficult to walk through. Cuts & scratches weren't deep, but my knee was banged up. Wrapped it up, ice bag, pain meds, lounging in bed all day. Ted seems to be ok. He's keeping his eyes on me. Hopefully, I'll be able to take him to the dog park on Sunday.
You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy.
