(original USA Today)World's oldest living cat named Flossie, at nearly 27 she's survived multiple owners and loves naps

She was once homeless.
She's had multiple owners.
Today she enjoys the simple things life has to offer, like food, cuddles and naps.
Meet Flossie: At nearly 27 – the feline equivalent of roughly 120 human years old – the senior British cat has been crowned the world’s oldest living cat.
In good health, although poorly sighted and deaf, Flossie is 26 years and 317 days old, according to a Thanksgiving Day news release from Guinness World Records who named her as the world record holder.
The London cat has lived in at least four homes. She was recently given to Cats Protection, a cat charity and adoption agency, where workers realized Flossie wasn't going anywhere, anytime soon.
Workers were "flabbergasted" when they saw Flossie's vet records, said Cats Protection's branch coordinator Naomi Rosling.
"She's the oldest cat I ever met," Rosling said.

My new kitty Ash is settling in. Floyd the pug is thrilled to
have a playmate.
Ash is large and fearless, and delights in ambush of all kinds. He hides in the curtains and pounces out - on his hind legs, front paws up like he wants to hug you. This usually galvanizes Floyd to give chase ( their new game- Ash is under the dining room table, Floyd racing around and around outside the table. Ash races around under and tries to trip Floyd.) The cats mostly still hiss at his play temptations but will curl up to sleep with him. Yesterday he ambushed Coco the butterball and she rolled like a bowling ball away from him.
He plays like a kitten still. I have the shredded hands to prove it. I love him.

I love this cat so much! She settled in well. She and Stormy really play well together! And she has these dark markings over top inside corners her eyes that make her expression look so concerned. But her nose looks like she walked face first into a freshly painted wall. And she snuggles up with me and purrs. I’m so glad I got her.

First night with the new pup and he settled in against my back at bedtime. My psychotic 17 lb, 17 year old cat curled up against my stomach as usual. Without opening his eyes or raising his head, he hissed, growled, and puffed his fur out every time the puppy so much as moved. He'll have that damn dog trained in no time!

The cat has been living with us since he was about a month old (Katrina kitty) and he still won't let my husband touch him.Tiredretiredlawyer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 4:32 pmYour cat sounds like my Siri, only heavier!sugar magnolia wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 3:33 pm First night with the new pup and he settled in against my back at bedtime.
