In an earlier episode [intones the narrator] Our Hero injured his toe, then ordered a mat and a matching lady.

I refuses to answer on the grounds that it would make me look silly. :nope: :talktothehand: :silenced:

Doesn't hurt any more. :oldman:

The mat is working great. Love it. Video at 11 when I'm ready.

About ten years ago, I messed up a toe like that. It hurt at first, then stopped, then hurt like hell again for a few days. It stayed looking bad, though, and I wasn't sure what was going on with it. It quit growing. About six months later, the old toenail gradually cracked open, and there was a brand-new toenail under it.

I did the same thing about a month ago. The toe looks awful, doesn't hurt anymore. I'm going to have to wait to see if I end up with a new toenail some time next summer.

:waiting:

Andy, I'm almost certain that's exactly what is going to happen in this case. It happened to me once before, I kicked a rock really hard instead of kicking my boss. I was younger then. Still better than kicking the boss, but my big toe (on the other foot) was a mess until the new one emerged.

But yeah, that purple (relatively dry blood) isn't going anywhere for months, and then I'll get a new one. :bored:

If'n we still had the flower shop, we'd be going insane today.

So the Van Gogh exhibit is postponed, they're giving me a voucher. :bored:

I know how I want to die now.

Not today, of course. I didn't say when, I said how. But I know.

I was in the middle of Musical Asskicking (aka Les Mills' BodyCombat) yesterday morning, and I was rockin' with the music and flying around, barefoot on my 6' by 6' mat, using every muscle in my body, kicking and punching and jumping, utterly and completely lost in the rhythm and the motion of dance. And that's when it hit me:

That's the most fun you can even have with your clothes on. I really do reach an altered mental state that is very, very good for me. Physically and mentally.

After the class, I went up to the instructor, Alison (my aim is true), and I told her, if I should happen to keel over and croak, right in front of her and the whole class, I want her to announce, "We have a winner!"

:winner:

She agreed, and got a good laugh. She knows exactly what I mean, and it isn't gonna be anytime soon. Today at 9:30 is Dancing with Barbells.

Luncheon with ol' Wifehorn and Numbah One Son, at the NC Seafood Restaurant in the State Farmers' Market. Pricy, but oh, the great quality food.

Then we got a few azaleas.

Those are deviled crabs (big ones, lots of meat, hand made), hush puppies, fries and slaw.

No, I mean the food.

Since Numbah One Son is now enrolled at NC State University, I did a little research on the name Wolfpack.
1892 – 1910: The athletic teams were inconsistently referred to as “The Farmers”, “The Mechanics”, “The Aggies”, and “The Techs”.

1910 – 1919: The basketball team became known as the Red Terrors and a bull terrier named Togo became the mascot.

1921: The nickname “Wolfpack” was first used in reference to the football team when a letter was written to the school paper complaining that the football players were as “unruly as a pack of wolves”

1946: Chancellor J. W. Harrelson asked students to suggest a new name for the sports teams. The football team had increasingly become known as the Wolfpack, while other NC State athletic teams were still referred to as Red Terrors. The Chancellor disliked the term Wolfpack because of connotations with World War II German U-boat formations. However, the students voted overwhelmingly to keep the nickname Wolfpack and use it for all the athletic teams. Go Pack!

Today's project: paint the front door blue, in addition to all my other normal Weds. activities, which are legion.

A rich, elegant blue to go with our green house, I have the can of paint and have been waiting only for the weather.

And today the weather is right. As you may recall, I left home the day after I graduated high school in Bethesda, MD and drove in my VW bus to San Francisco to be a hippie for the rest of my life. That's where I became a professional house painter at the ripe old age of 18.

I got this.

Two young men I know are starting their summer jobs on this glorious May morn.

Ol' Wifehorn: Wake me up at 6:30.

Foggy: Why?

OW: So I can get them ready for work.

F: Oh, helicopter parenting. They have the same job as last year, they're good at this.

OW: They're moving out in August, allow me my last few months of being their mom.

F: Yeah, after that you'll have to get up at 4:30 and drive over to their house to get them ready for work. ... Ouch!

Pricy? What do they spend the money on? Doesn't anybody have PLATES anymore? or GLASSES? Don't you have anything other than styrofoam in the US of A anymore?

Do you know how long that stuff lives in landfill? Or floating around in the ocean? Do you know what that shit does to turtles?

Fer fksakes.
