Yeah, thirty degrees difference between Sunday's high and Monday's.

But it was lovely today!
84 here yesterday, about 15 minutes of hard rain middle of the afternoon. High today predicted 45, low 26.
This is why people act like they do in the South.

Now 49,524.

Jeez, fifty thousand sick in a county with only a few more than a million people.

As I have assplained y'all, I have some N95 masks that I found in my workshop at the beginning of the pandemic, and when Omicron came along I started wearing one and recommended to ol' Wifehorn and the boys that they wear the others. With some resistance actually, ol' Wifehorn didn't believe the N95 was a better solution despite my best efforts.

Today ol' Wifehorn had a doctor's appointment, and she put on an N95 before walking in.

So get this: They actually told her, "Please wear this surgical mask instead. The N95 is better at protecting you, but the surgical mask is better at protecting us."

Which meant: 1) That I was entirely correct, and now the doctor's office has confirmed it: N95 masks are better at protecting you, and 2) the doctor's office employees, if there's a choice between you getting sick and them getting sick, would much prefer that you get sick, not them. They won't be terribly upset if you get sick.

In other news, we've got a guy we're helping who needs to actually go to a Social Security office to straighten out his mess. In order to go to the SS office, you need to have an appointment. In order to schedule an appointment, you have to use the phone. They don't answer the phone. You can stay on hold for four hours, they are NOT going to answer that phone.

It's a :pickle:. I may go get the guy, take him to the SS office with no appointment, and encourage them to schedule an appointment for the gentleman.

I guess it depends on the SSA office.

I had an issue last month & called my local office. After working through their ridiculous menu, I was on hold less than 2 minutes before a live human answered. She was great and was able to help, even though my question actually involved some awesome detective work & 2 other agencies.

So, I guess try the Gilroy, CA, office.

I need a bigger exercise mat. I bruised mah big toe and started working out barefoot, which it turns out is much better for my feet, but the hardwood floors are slippy and my mat is too small for a lot of jumping around like a lunatic and pretending I can throw a left hook.

My new mat arrives today, and it's bigger:

I don't know if the blonde comes with it. If so, I gotta work things out with ol' Wifehorn.

.
Edit: Actually, if you consider the scale of the photo and the lady, she appears to be a bit more than eight feet from toe to toe, if'n she is positioned over the back of the mat. In which case maybe she can explain things to ol' Wifehorn, maybe. :confuzzled:

Good idea. If they're busy with the rona, maybe the People Pretzel Shoppe (aka chiropractor) can help her.

I'd measure that mat too. 6x6 should be square, and that pitcher ain't no square.

I'm hoping the delay is they let her go. I don't need any more ladies in this house, and the exercise mat would be kinda crowded when I'm tryin' ta get a halfway decent workout.

Set my people free!

.

:whisper: I know, I know, that means some other dude is gonna get two blondes in his box. He can have 'em. He'll never get a decent workout! :point:

I am looking forward to Foggy's pitcher with his exercise mat. I expect he will leap in the air like the blonde and stretch his limbs just like she is doing! :batting:

You know what they say: The position is ridiculous, the pleasure is momentary, and the price is damnable. My daddy taught me that one. I don't know if he knew there was more than one position, and I'm not telling him now. :talktothehand:

Moving on:

In my county, Wake County, as I have related, we went from under 4,000 cases before Omicron hit (Dec. 15), and then we went up to well over 50,000 cases, the high was something above 54,000. Then the next day, 53,000. Then 52,000.

Today there are only 45,000 cases. All these nubmers are from the NC COVID-19 Dashboard.

It appears that Omicron has washed over Wake County and is subsiding at present. :oldman:
