Bad Art Friend

#1

Post by Whatever4 »

One reason I popped back to TFB was to see what the Boogle thought about the “Who is the Bad Art Friend” article in the NYT Magazine. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/05/maga ... arson.html

Lots of chatter on the bird app. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/20/insi ... itter.html

Just wanted to say W2 knows everyone mentioned in the article. He’s been a member of Grub Street Boston for years, has taken classes with and by the two parties. His take: “but they are all so NICE.”

I've been paywalled, so I'm going to guess.

I can only think of Art Carney and Art Linkletter and I'm pretty sure they're both dead. Oh, Garfunkel?

They’re all horrible.

When I lived at the Lake of the Ozarks, I had a few flamingos in my lavender garden. The next door neighbor didn't like them and complained. So I started dressing them. I had an alien flamingo wrapped in aluminum foil, a Vegas Elvis flamingo, a biker flamingo (based on soon-to-be-Hubs) and so on and so on. He then called his lawyer to again complain "NOW THEY HAVE CLOTHES ON!"

(He moved soon afterwards. I later learned his house was up for sale, sans the sign. He was afraid my flamingos would chase away prospective buyers.)

I’m ready to start planning a meet up - Blue Ridge edition. Maybe spring of 2022?

What folks in Northern Lower Michigan (where I used to live) call tourists. They come up and buy fudge (and antiques, or stuff from garage sales).

Sadly, when I go up there now, I have been reduced to being a fudgie as well. I've been away too long and was not born and raised there.
