I has a few thoughts....

Chris Hayes talked me into believing Trump might not self surrender without at least some drama and possibly some kind of "Nope, I ain't gonna go".

It also has occurred to me that the DA could call up Trump's lawyers and say "Look, we have a sealed indictment. We want to avoid a circus and if your client can slip in without a parade we'll make the booking and arraignment as quick and painless as possible, but if your client makes this public and calls the flying monkeys, we swear to Krom we'll march him down every hallway in the building in handcuffs and release the worst mugshot we could get in 32 tries."

The "... and a pony" motion in Georgia today is just another way to add 45 more days to the process so he can delay any trial too far into the election, which I doubt works.

No matter what else happens, the moment anyone besides Trump gets the nomination, he's toast.

I for one surely expect that the former guy gets that offer to quietly get over the procedural steps of an indicment and arraignment and bonding out. He was the impotus. The tricky thing will be to get the guy to New York without the paperazzi taking notice. I assume he will use his T plane to fly to an airport out in the boondogs, and there switch to a plane without know track sign to reach his destintion. Or he will be on a plane of one of his anonymous aficionados donors.

I would expect him to refuse the offer and then make a big deal about how "they tried to make me an offer and I turned them down." Because it's all about him having the power, the control, and saying the nay-no.

Exactly this. And how could grifting take place without a blustering show of 'strength'.

Does he really want the marks to think that he's weak? No, he wants them to think he's that all powerful, heavily muscled hero, with cape flowing out from his shoulders and a flight of eagles in full winged fury above his head.

An interesting idea. But not foolproof. There are people who monitor FlightAware for fun. Trump's tail number is well known, and if that plane moves, I am sure it will be spotted instantly. If it goes to a place where Trump isn't known to be holding a political rally, then I am sure tongues will wag. And if another private jet takes off for NYC within a handful of minutes after Trump's plane lands, I'm willing to bet the word will get out quickly and there will be news media all over the second plane when it lands, probably at Teterboro.

There’s a guy on TikTok I think his name is wardeadpool, with a large following who goes live with FlightTracker and his merry band of followers. They look at stuff all over the world.

The grift is strong.

Isn't it more likely that the vast majority of protestors would actually be those who are overjoyed that this stain on the presidency is finally meeting up with his worst nightmare--looking like a loser?
