Baker says angry customer told him his cake ‘ruined’ her daughter’s birthday

A Southern baker’s not-so-sweet experience with an angry customer has garnered sympathy across the internet.
Earlier this month, Gregory Mason, who owns Treat Yo’ Self Bakery in Wilson, North Carolina with his husband Alexander Mason, posted a video on his TikTok (@trashyqweenz) telling the story about a customer who was unsatisfied with their birthday cake order — and it went viral, collecting over 25 million views.
“So apparently I made this 6-year-old cry, she’s heartbroken, ruined her entire birthday, because this cake is just so ugly,” Mason says in the video. “Literally says, ‘You have over a million followers and can’t decorate a simple unicorn cake?’”
Mason explains that his customer — the child’s mother — brought the cake back in for him to remake it.
The unhappy mom had many gripes with the cake: She said it didn’t match the inspiration picture she provided; she didn’t like the roses; she thought the border looked “like toothpaste”; and the text being written in cursive was “not kid-friendly,” just to name a few.
“The kicker for me is the colors. I went out of my way to use these natural food colors she supplied for an allergy, because no other place would,” Mason continues in the video, showing himself re-mixing the colors to be darker, per the client’s request.
Mason says he doesn’t “usually share customer interactions” but decided to film himself redoing the cake with a second unicorn design. “Because if you come into my business and treat me like I’m an incompetent piece of trash and say you’re going to start posting stuff, then I’m going to post stuff, too, and stand up for myself,” he says.
“If you don’t like the cake, then let’s just have a polite conversation and figure out the miscommunication,” Mason concludes his video. “Not coming at me hot saying I crushed your 6-year-old’s unicorn dreams.”

This is the story about how the Missunde 3, an electric ferry, replaced the Missunde 2, a polluting, old fashioned diesel ferry, in Germany.

Qantas Flight Plays Adult Film Due To Technical Error, Apologises Later Technical problems meant individual movie selection was not available on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Haneda, leaving the crew to pick one film to be broadcast to the whole cabin.

Passengers aboard a flight to Tokyo last week got more inflight entertainment than they bargained for last week when an explicit film featuring sex talk and explicit images was broadcast to every screen.
Technical problems meant individual movie selection was not available on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Haneda, leaving the crew to pick one film to be broadcast to the whole cabin.
Their selection of Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn's racy drama "Daddio" was a surprise to many, and to the airline, which apologised Tuesday.
According to one review, the movie features "references to oral sex, masturbation" as well as a "brief but clear photo of erect penis on phone screen. Photos of a woman's naked breasts. Explicit sex-related dialogue and texting".
"The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologise to customers for this experience," a Qantas spokesperson said.
Once the mistake was clear, "all screens were changed to a family-friendly movie for the rest of the flight," Qantas added.
Rhetorical question. Why can't people just mind their own damned business?

That would be perfectly awful. Alopecia looks weird at first. But, she didn't deserve that.

That's just really....weird. During my chemo and radiation, I lost my hair, including eyebrows and nose hair. I didn't try to hide it with hats and scarves, and even shaved my head the day it started falling out. I don't remember a single person so much as staring or commenting, much less screaming at me in a public restroom. She had to go out of her way to make the stupid "connection" between a bald woman and a trans woman. Even little kids generally know about bald women with cancer and a couple of them would stare and ask straight out if I had cancer but that's the closest attention I got from anyone. I did have one dumbass at the vet tell me to move away from her because I gave her anxiety, but when I reassured her that cancer wasn't contagious she at least had to the grace to look embarrassed. It was the height of covid, so I gave her some grace for the comment.

Ya, there's a completely bald woman that works in a coffee shop near me, and she has never drawn more than a few glances to my knowledge. It's not that big a deal in general.

Google Translate wrote:Fire in Stadtallendorf: The fire station of all places has no fire alarm The damage after the fire at the fire station in Stadtallendorf is said to be over 20 million euros. It was only opened in January and was considered the most modern in the district. But here, of all places, savings were made on fire alarms. They are not mandatory.

At the official inauguration of the new fire station in Stadtallendorf (Marburg-Biedenkopf) in January of this year, it was celebrated as "modern, innovative and state-of-the-art". Equipped with a 23-meter-high training tower, its own laundry, hose maintenance system and fitness room. But there is no fire or sprinkler system in the fire department's vehicle hall.
Just a few months later, "the most modern fire station in the entire district" was reduced to rubble and ashes. Shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning, one of the vehicles parked in the fire station had apparently caught fire.
"Think carefully about fire alarms"
A fire alarm system is not required by law, says district fire inspector Lars Schäfer. It is up to the municipality to decide to what extent it protects its critical infrastructure. "It's better to have one than to need one, and that also applies to fire alarm systems," says Schäfer. The current situation will probably "prompt people to think carefully about it."
Whether a smoke alarm system and an earlier alarm could actually have prevented the destruction of the fire station is unclear, however. The fire in Stadtallendorf seems to have spread particularly quickly. "The fire department was there within three minutes," confirmed Mayor Christian Somogyi (SPD) to hr.
Lesson 1: The Pentagon is not a good place to ditch the carjacked SUV you are driving
STATter911
2 Sept 2024
A trio of suspected carjackers ditched a hot Toyota Highlander in a parking lot at the Pentagon Sunday (9/1/24) afternoon. The vehicle was stolen in an armed carjacking. An apparent plan to take a bus or Metrorail was quickly dashed by Pentagon Force Protection Agency officers on one side and an Arlington County Police Department officer on the other. Soon, an army of reinforcements joined in the chase. Yes, they could run, but it was fruitless to hide. Police promptly arrested all three and apparently recovered a gun.

Actress has entitled hissy fit when a fan edits a movie poster to be more like the poster of the Broadway Show the Movie is based on. Publicity department collectivly orders Valium by the truckload.

Me? I think the edit looks a lot better. Its intriguing and has a hint of mischievousness about it. The movie one is kinda weird and the face expression is odd. It makes me think she loudly insisted on Poster the way it is now and is pissed someone else created the Poster that she loudly rejected beforehand and everyone is saying it looks a lot better. In short, she's acting like a Diva.
And the Movie executives have to be going nuts about it. What's so hard about keeping your mouth shut till the movie releases? Or just saying "ha ha Nice edit but I prefer the real poster" and leaving it at that?
I mean, I have no interest in the movie anyway, but this just made me less likely to see it. My Mom & Sisters saw the show and loved it.
