Mr. Trump was known to rip up pieces of paper, and to bring documents up to the White House residence. Notes taken by aides in 2018 show that Mr. Trump’s advisers appeared to be contending with tracking documents he had brought with him to his club in Bedminster, NJ, where he stayed over weekends during the warmer months of the year.

In some cases, Mr. Trump tore up documents and threw them in toilets in the White House. Aides would periodically retrieve what was not flushed down and let it dry, then tape it back together and pass the documents on to the staff secretary, whose office managed presidential paper flow, according to two people familiar with what took place.

The emphasis is ours because, what the actual fuck. To be clear, we’re not disgusted by the aides’ decision to stick their hands in these bowls and “retrieve what was not flushed down,” but with Trump for putting them in that position. (It's also worth noting that Trump’s reported shredding habit was in violation of the Presidential Records Act, and the act of literally putting the pieces back together for him was obviously an attempt to comply with the law.)

Trump's Prized 40 Wall Street Building Is On 'Lender Watch' Amid Dropping Income: Report
This is the skyscraper Trump boasted about on 9/11, that it became the tallest in the city after the fall of the World Trade Center towers. It still wasn't.

Donald Trump’s heavily mortgaged skyscraper at 40 Wall Street is on “lender watch” amid plummeting income and increasing costs, Bloomberg reported Friday.

The vacancy rate at the 72-story building — Trump’s most valuable — jumped to almost 18% in the third quarter of last year, according to a monthly filing on the building’s remaining $126.5 million mortgage, Bloomberg reported.

Expenses, meanwhile, have reportedly risen 11% since the origin of the 2015 mortgage.

Trump has often bragged about the building he acquired in 1995, which was appraised at $540 million in 2015.

The day of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center and killed 3,000 people, a Trump bragged in a TV interview that 40 Wall Street was suddenly the tallest building in the city. Not only was his claim insensitive, it was also a lie. Another nearby skyscraper on Pine Street in Lower Manhattan became the tallest building after the destruction of the Twin Towers.

High-rise office leasing in Manhattan has been dropping for years, which was exacerbated after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic as many companies shut down and employees of surviving firms worked remotely.

Wells Fargo, which is servicing the mortgage on 40 Wall Street, “has reached out to the borrower for a status of leasing developments” and the plans to improve the property’s performance, according to the filing, Bloomberg reported.

To paraphrase the immortal words of Col. Jessup, "They can't handle the truth!".

Yes, they knew it was not true that the election was stolen, but that was not what they wanted to hear, or what they wanted the public to believe. The truth was that TFG was about to be a former president, and he very much wanted to continue to be a current president.

LOL this statement makes me wonder if Judge Beryl Howell has granted Jack Smith’s motion to compel Corcoran to testify under the crime-fraud exception 😂

That was my thoughts exactly. He's always saying the quiet part out loud. It's raw admission that the NRA owns the Republican party.

Yes. I think his statements over the years pretty well have stayed consistent with what appears to be his opinion that Black people are all criminals, and the only Black people that own guns are criminal, none could possibly be NRA members. The "racist in reverse" is the Black AG being racist against the white NRA and white Republican party. Gosh, is he also betraying an opinion that Black Republicans are just "token" and not "real" Republicans? That would be totally consistent with what seems to be his opinion of Black people.

Yeah, except when Donald Trump says the Attorney General of the state of New York is a racist, nobody cares.

Everyone knows that he isn't going to back that up with facts.

Everyone understands that it's a lie.

Everyone knows that he's really saying, "Make the mean black lady leave me alone!"

So it's really quite delicious. He's being successfully sued by a black woman, and it's gotten so far under his skin, he forgot to say he won in 2020 in that one. He can't stand it, that a black lady is not only his equal, she's proving to be somewhat superior to him.

The only thing better would be if Mr. Obama was helping Ms. James.

Trump’s Shell Spending Scheme Comes Under DOJ Scrutiny

Roger Sollenberger
Thu, February 16, 2023 at 10:54 AM GMT+1

Pay Dirt is a weekly foray into the pigpen of political funding.

Former President Donald Trump’s Save America PAC raised tens of millions of dollars on false claims of election fraud, and now the feds want to know how it was spent.

On Sunday, The New York Times reported that special counsel Jack Smith’s team has subpoenaed a “vast array” of Trump vendors, “posing questions related to how money was paid to other vendors, indicating that they are interested in whether some entities were used to mask who was being paid or if the payments were for genuine services rendered.”

While the details of Smith’s inquiry are unknown, we do have something of a road map. The report from the Jan. 6 House Select Committee, along with publicly available Federal Election Commission and IRS filings, can shine a light on some of those vendors, offering some insight into what may have caught the DOJ’s eye.

First, it’s a fact that Trump has literally masked his vendors. Prior to the election, the Trump 2020 campaign had already routed more than three-quarters of a billion dollars in expenses to unknown subvendors through an in-house company, called American Made Media Consultants. That arrangement was targeted in a FEC complaint from watchdog group Campaign Legal Center, which alleged that the campaign used the scheme to effectively launder money and conceal from the public the true recipients of donor funds.

It was a “perfect phone call” like his call to Zelenskyy! :liar: :liar:

But nothing ever came of the call to Zelenskyy

And nothing ever came of the Mueller investigation/report

TFG may be lying, but he's also gotten away with everything so far
