Breaking: Facebook has suspended Trump for two years, until at least January 2023.

Facebook: When the suspension is eventually lifted, there will be a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions that will be triggered if Mr. Trump commits further violations in future, up to and including permanent removal of his pages and accounts.

Following the Facebook announcement, I was scrolling twitter and saw a post with this statement from the desk of donald j trump:
Next time I’m in the White House there will be no more dinners, at his request, with Mark Zuckerberg and his wife. It will be all business!
I thought it was a joke. I wasn't the only one.

Narrator: It wasn't a joke.

Too bad there's no one who cares enough to do an intervention.

Former President Donald Trump may have shut down his website after just 29 days, but he’s certainly not keeping quiet.

In his latest statement, Trump urges Pennsylvania state lawmakers to follow the path of officials in Arizona and conduct a “full Forensic Audit” of the 2020 election, and predicts that if they don’t, Pennsylvania lawmakers will lose their jobs.

“Great patriots led by State Senator Doug Mastriano, Senator Cris Dush, and State Representative Rob Kauffman went to Maricopa County, Arizona, to learn the best practices for conducting a full Forensic Audit of the 2020 General Election,” Trump said in his latest statement, sent via email. “Now the Pennsylvania Senate needs to act. Senate President Jake Corman needs to fulfill his promise to his constituents to conduct a full Forensic Audit. Senator Dave Argall, Chairman of the State Government Committee, has to authorize the subpoenas, if necessary. The people of Pennsylvania and America deserve to know the truth. If the Pennsylvania Senate leadership doesn’t act, there is no way they will ever get re-elected!

Former President Donald Trump suggested he would consider running for a House seat in 2022 in a bid to become Speaker of the House and launch an impeachment investigation against President Joe Biden.

Trump commented on the idea during an interview broadcast by far-right radio host Wayne Allyn Root on Friday afternoon. Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon first touted the idea of Trump running for Congress to take over as Speaker of the House back in February. Root raised the idea with Trump directly during his interview.

"Why not, instead of waiting for 2024, and I'm hoping you'll run in 2024 but why not run in 2022 for the United States Congress, a House seat in Florida. Win big. Lead us to a dramatic landslide victory. Take the House by 50 seats. And then you become the Speaker of the House, lead the impeachment of Biden and start criminal investigations against Biden. You'll wipe him out for this last two years," Root said with excitement.

FL-21 is D+9, so yes. (But: redistricting, so who knows.)

There's already a declared Republican challenger for FL-21: Loomer. :smoking:

(And, of course, there's no requirement that the Speaker of the House be a member of Congress.)

Wouldn’t that be a hoot to see DFO run against Loomer in a primary?

There is a requirement that the entire body vote on the speaker, yes/no? You can bet 100% of the Dems wouldn't support that POS. You can also bet there'd be a handful of Repugnants who wouldn't support him either. Of course they'd have to flip the house in 2022. Nothing is certain.

The Speaker must receive a majority of the votes cast, not a majority of all members. (Boehner, for example, was once elected with 216 votes out of 408 cast.)

The notion of the repeached Florida Man being elected to the House is somewhere between a pipe dream and a grift. And even if the Republicans retake the House, I don't think he'd receive a majority of votes cast (especially if was not a member) to be the Speaker.

Also, I bet the thought of these rallies gives McConnell heartburn. At least I hope it does. The really bad kind.
I'm sorry, or no, I'm not sorry, but I wouldn't be that distraught if Mitch McConnell had a heart attack and then assumed room temperature. He is working to get the law in Kentucky changed that when the Governor fills a vacant seat to the US Senate, the appointee must be of the same party as the guy who made the seat vacant. Which is the law in some other states already and is total bullshit.

If successful, and he resigns after Republicans lose in 2022, which he might, I swear I'd get Amy McGrath to switch parties, register as a Republican and let the Democratic Governor appoint her. In full compliance with the law, just like Mitch would do, or condone, were the circumstances opposite.

Fuck him, the horse he rode in on and the guy who made the saddle.

Is there anyone left in the US with a venue that would rent it out without payment up front? Or a city that would provide police protection without payment up front?
I guess we'll soon see.

Remember all that 'Stop the Steal" fundraising he did? Where he raised a quarter of a billion dollars?

Its burning a hole in his pocket.

True, but he hates to spend his grifting on anything that doesn't flow back to him.

Well, when you put it that way, how many candidates are having as many of their fundraising dinners at places he owns, and paying 5 times the going rate for the place down the street at the place he doesn't?

He's just throwing a new squeeky toy on the floor for his base to play with. They'll be entertained for a bit until he gets bored with them, and pulls it back.

I'd be perfectly fine if it was only the base that paid attention.

Fucking media cannot stop amplifying. Which I could tolerate if they didn't pretend that the words he vomits up are not sedition through and through.

And its not even them, a lot of W"left wing" sources cant let him go either. Take the "he has Dementia" industry. For example I ran across this this morning

This has the favorite tool of the outrage machine - altered photos. As you can tell from the woman as well as other indications, what they have done is altered the colour saturation of the photo so everyone looks a lot whiter than they usually do. So, ya hes still bronzing, but he looks lumpy in this photo.

Another thing is the "This is something New! he's ill!" industry.

In fact he was sitting like that for 5 years whenever he wasn't getting his way or he was getting confronted with facts he didn't like.

The chin pouch won't go away at his age without plastic surgery, no matter how much he loses. Lots of older, thin people have them.
I don't know why he's losing weight but he's losing it.
