I wouldn’t mind at all if like minded Republican Christianist zealots moved to three (sorta) contiguous states - say, SC, TN and KY (trump +55, +25, +54 respectively) and tried to run their states like a church.

You’ve seen how many of trump’s devotees have gone from relatively sane individuals to frothing nutters in just a few years. The power would go to their heads immediately and they would enact all sorts of crazy laws. I’d bet my farm that within 10 years they’d have screwed thongs up so royally that everyone who isn’t crazy has fled said states and become Democrats, just for their own sanity.

I picked up some free items from someone on the local Buy Nothing page. She seemed a nice enough person at first, but then she revealed that she was planning on moving to Florida, hence the purge. I reacted to that with a facial expression of disgust. She assured me that people here were starting to be crazy, and that she'd left California 30 years ago when it was obvious that the 'fruitcakes' were taking over. I told her the expression was because I don't like really big bugs...I didn't want to tell her that I found the people in Florida were 'fruitcakes' in the opposite direction.

The problem with moving to a different state 'because people here are too liberal' means that eventually you will run out of other states to ruin by moving there. Nutters here want to move to Idaho, but even Idaho has blue pockets, and those pockets will keep expanding.

There are intelligent, thoughtful decent people in every state. There were more of us than "them" in 2020. They are just louder, more angry and confrontational - and hateful - do they get more air time and appear overwhelming.

Sounds like your classic pump and dump scheme. I remember an article from a few years ago, pointint out that making Bitcoin go up or down 40-50% was a damn sight more difficult than making a random, penny cryptocoin do the same thing.
