Actor Jeremy Renner is hospitalized in critical condition after being injured in a weather-related snow plowing incident in Nevada, his publicist confirmed to CNN.

Officers responded to a “traumatic injury” in the area of Mount Rose Highway in Reno, according to a news release from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which has previously said the Academy Award-nominated actor lived in the community.
The sheriff’s office did not provide details on the extent of Renner’s injuries or what may have caused the accident.
Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Renner via care flight to a local area hospital, the release stated.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., announced Thursday that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will undergo treatment.
"While the news came as a shock, I can report that I have an excellent prognosis, as well as the benefit of exceptional medical care and the unwavering support of my family," Casey, 62, said in a statement. "In the coming months I will undergo surgery, after which I am expected to make a full recovery."
Casey was first elected to the Senate in 2006. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2018, even as the state swung between Republicans and Democrats in the presidential contest. Casey is up for re-election in 2024. A spokeswoman for the senator declined to say whether he would run again.
Reports are also saying he asked who won the game.Mrich wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 3:23 pm

WASHINGTON (AP) — Surgeons removed a cancerous lesion above first lady Jill Biden’s right eye and one on her chest, the White House said Wednesday, while a third lesion on her left eyelid was being examined.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the physician to President Joe Biden, said examinations showed that the lesion over Jill Biden’s right eye and one newly discovered on her chest were both confirmed to be basal cell carcinoma. The lesion on her left eye was “fully excised, with margins, and was sent for standard microscopic examination,” according to O’Connor’s report.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most curable form of skin cancer. It is a slow-growing cancer that usually is confined to the surface of skin — doctors almost always can remove it all with a shallow incision — and seldom causes serious complications or becomes life-threatening.

The lesions were determined to be basal cell carcinoma, a relatively unaggressive form of skin cancer, and the first lady was “in good spirits” after the procedure, the White House physician said.

WASHINGTON — Jill Biden, the first lady, had outpatient surgery on Wednesday to remove three skins lesions, two of which doctors determined to be cancerous.
The White House physician, Dr. Kevin C. O’Connor, said in a statement that the tissue from two sites — above her right eye and on her chest — was tested and confirmed to be basal cell carcinoma, a common and relatively unaggressive form of skin cancer. All the cancerous tissue was removed, Dr. O’Connor said, and doctors did not expect any further procedures to be necessary.
A third, similar lesion was also removed from the first lady’s left eyelid, but tests were still being conducted to check for cancer, according to the statement.

Rescue crews continue to search for the British actor Julian Sands, who was reported missing after hiking in the San Gabriel mountains in California on Friday.
The 65-year-old actor, known for his roles in A Room with a View, The Killing Fields, and Naked Lunch, was reported missing in the Baldy Bowl area, which is popular with hikers and skiers, according to the San Bernardino county sheriff’s department.
The force has urged hikers to “think twice and heed warnings” after treacherous weather in the region. It said its search and rescue teams had responded to 14 calls on Mount Baldy and in the surrounding area over the last four weeks.
“On Friday, 13 January, at about 7.30 pm, a hiker, identified as 65-year-old Julian Sands of North Hollywood was reported missing in the Baldy Bowl area,” sheriff department spokesperson Nathan Campos said.
“Sheriff’s department search and rescue crews responded and began a search. Because of avalanche risks and trail conditions, the ground crews were pulled off the mountain on Saturday evening. However, we continue to search by helicopter and drones when the weather permits.”
