Trump has been a (bad) joke for a long time, but this almost seems like a deliberate attempt to make himself the butt even more jokes.

Gotta set my DVR to record Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Myers tonight. They're gonna rip him to shreds. I can see it now. Jimmy has a split screen, showing TFG's trading cards on one side and himself, rolling on the floor in paroxysms of laughter, on the other. An added touch would be to have paramedics come in to administer oxygen, so he can breath again.

This is how Trump wants to convince people to take him seriously as a presidential contender? As CovfefeMan?

Trump's big announcement isn't that he's coming back to Twitter or anything of significance. He's just launching NFTs.

5:26 PM · Dec 15, 2022
NFTs are payed with cryptocurrencies, bad timing to launch NFTs when crypto is in free fall :blackeye:

Even worse if a new coin is created for this purpose.

Trump is an egomaniac who does envision himself as a super hero. In his mind, that image on the trading card is the true person he is. The fact that he has supporters who cheer on that image - we've seen their trucks - just feeds his ego. Trump's true love (besides himself) is money. The fact that people send him money just proves to him that he's justified in his narcissism. These trading cards are just a logical result of all of this. Trump has deigned to make these cards available to his adoring public who will obviously snap them up because Trump is the most perfect person in the world.

In 2015, Trump was the "Next Big Thing". He came down the golden escalator, onto the political scene, ran to the head of the already existing RWNJ crowd and yelled "Follow Me". They did, for a while.

Now, the novelty has worn off and people, including some in his base, are moving on the the NEXT "Next Big Thing" (Ron DeSantis, maybe?). Most people are simply tired of him. He hasn't said or done anything new since 2015.

He's like Beany Babies or Cabbage Patch Kids. The flame burns brightly for a short time and then fades. You can still find Beany Babies and Cabbage Patch Kids on eBay, but their hay day is long over. Like the toys, TFG will never completely go away, but he is fading to complete irrelevance, and fading quickly. Soon (long before the 2024 election, I believe), he will be like the old man shouting at pigeons in the park, except he will be shouting on Truth Social, as fewer and fewer people listen.

That is, if the prison authorities allow him internet access.

I like some of their comments.
I'd previously thought "DeSanctimonious" was the moment he jumped the shark.

Clearly, I was wrong.
Lol yeah sure either that or just bilking his dwindling base of delusional followers, who rationalize every embarrassment like battered housewives. This guy has jumped the shark so hard he’s in space.
And that is on the Free Republic.

More like clackers I think. They don't actually do anything, make a lot of noise, and can hurt you if you aren't careful

How many of his supporters are even in the trade for cryptocurrentcies, a requirement to purchase and trade NFTs? How many of his supporters, especially the elderly are computer fluent with the web?

Are those trading cards even real NFTs? The announcement says that the price is stated in dollars, not crypto. Knowing him, they are probably just simple jpegs.

Twitter will no longer load on my tablet (probably due to some update I just made).

Aren't the important people on some other platform yet? Why is everyone still driving traffic to that site anyway?

I don’t even think these are NFTs. Just “limited edition” jpegs.

I am choosing to look at this as the world’s biggest troll having a laugh at the whole NFT craze (and naturally making a few bucks in the process). It’s just funnier that way, and today I choose to laugh.
