One other, not disqualifying, but interesting: A non-member would have no vote, correct?
No vote, but since the Speaker is both mentioned in the Constitution and has a separate salary from a regular member, I would assume they would be paid.

Youngkin, like DeSantis, faces Trump's fury

Alexander Nazaryan·Senior White House Correspondent
Fri, November 11, 2022 at 6:18 PM

Fresh off a diatribe against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whom he derisively described as an “average” Republican in a Thursday social media post, former President Donald Trump on Friday morning went after another popular Republican governor — Glenn Youngkin of Virginia — in what seemed like a warning meant to dissuade him from seeking the presidency in 2024.

“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, his proprietary social media network. It is not clear why he falsely insinuated that Youngkin was of Chinese ancestry (the origins of the governor’s name are Germanic), but Trump has a record of rhetoric against China and Chinese people, which during the coronavirus pandemic contributed to anti-Asian rhetoric and violence.

A former finance executive, Youngkin used discontent over school closures and other education-related issues (many of which were gathered under the broad and inexact umbrella term of “critical race theory”) to prevail in last year’s gubernatorial contest over Democratic establishment favorite Terry McAuliffe.

As with DeSantis, Trump suggested he was fully responsible for the governor’s unlikely political ascent. “I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him — or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Dark time in Trump's inner circle. Spoke to several longtime friends, donors, and aides in the past 24 hours. Many say he's listening to very few people, isolated, and meanspirited about his potential rivals. Several of them say they're tired of his rants and are avoiding him.

“I have never seen him more irresponsible and chaotic then he is today. He seems to be in self-destruct mode. It is irresponsible to attack DeSantis and Youngkin, and it’s irresponsible to announce in any time in the near future" especially before GA runoff, per a Trump adviser.

Dear MAGA,
Angry about midterm results? Blame Donald Trump. He took your hard earned money, spent a fraction of it on nutcase loser candidates, and pocketed the rest.

There’s still hope though, you can vote against him in 2024.

First virtual round at a future virtual meetup is on me if the following (admittedly long shot) scenario plays out:

Dems actually manage, despite the odds, to just hold onto the House. And then they authorize a sequel J6C to meet in the next Congress, and Trump still ends up having to haul his fat butt into their witness chair.

These committees don't really require people to be current members of congress right? I know the 9/11 committee wasn't all active members. They can bring back the same people just to fuck with Trump

I think a committee - even a select committee - has to be constrained by the Congress’s inherent ability to establish its own rules and procedures. So I think it has to be an internal construct of members and staffers.

The 9/11 Commission is distinguished because it was established by full legislation, passed by both chambers and signed by the President. It wasn’t constrained by one chamber’s internal rule making and organizing authority.

I am confused -- didn't he already lose this lawsuit or is this a second lawsuit *on the same exact subject*? Or am I just now no longer able to keep track of this guy's lawsuits?

I gave up years ago, around the time of Marla Maples. When OJ was plugging rent-a-cars, Kardashian was a lawyer and Jenner was a man.

Might be a good question to ask her. Or Tiffany. Big hug, congratulations!!!

I have a question for my Republican friends. Explain to me why, in his 32 posts today attacking fellow Repubs and praising himself, did your fake patriot, draft-dodging, makeup wearing, lumpy, pasty, soft, cult hero not say or post one fucking word about Veterans Day?

He is counting down the seconds until he can get out of this rehearsal back to rage posting about Mitch.

What a sour puss on Trump in that photo! If it was any other man in that situation I would fear for his health. Trump is just an old sour puss who can't stand that most folk present are looking at Tiffany and not him. ;)
