The Judge's sentencing comments were stunning. He cites her as a woman of privilege with no mitigating factors; he has never in his courtroom seen someone so unrepentant. He has no doubt that were she free, she would immediately begin these same activities again. Because Tina is always right. (seriously, he said that.)

I would almost think she was playing for an audience of one. I have no doubt that she and many of her followers think she can get a pardon if Trump is elected. Spoiler alert... POTUS cannot pardon a state court verdict.

I'll wager three million quatloos that, if he is elected, the Mango Mussilini will try to pardon state offenders.

He or his surrogates will probably argue that, just as the supremacy clause of the Constitution makes acts of Congress superior to acts of state legislatures (or even state constitutions), it makes Executive Orders and Pardons by POTUS superior to acts of state courts. Its BS, of course, but, he will try.

I hope someone transcribed the judge's speech re Tina's privilege, etc. It was LIT...but judge-like. He seemed really pissed off and while 9 years is good, I was hoping for more. I think the longest sentence for any one charge was about 3 years, which is pretty low (I think the upper end was 20?).

I clicked on the link about five minutes before the judge got to actually reading the sentence, so I got to hear the last few minutes of his comments. Brilliant. He went through the sentencing options available to him and stated why incarceration was the only appropriate option. I loved it.

Nine years, plus he denied her lawyer's request for an appeal bond.

For those that wish to hear the judge's full comments and sentencing, here is a link to the Denver 9 News video. The sentencing begins at 2:33:02. Ultimately, Tina was denied bail and will be in the Mesa County jail for the next 60 days per a motion by the defense. After that, it will be supposedly up to the State Dept. of Corrections as to whether she serves the state sentence next or completes the last 4 months of her county sentence first.

Overall sentence is 8-1/2 years in a Colorado correctional institution and 6 months in the Mesa County jail. These sentences are to be served consecutively.

The ultimate example of the judge's comment about Peters privilege, is there is no money shot of her being put into cuffs, rather she's just led out of the courtroom. Anyone else gets cuffed right at the defense table...

However, the point is moot, because she'll have several times in cuffs over the next 9 years....
