Nemo, my first granddog, is now 17. He was puzzled about who we were when Hubby brought him here while Nemo's dad went on vacation. He figured it out after about 10 hours. Then be remembered Mimi and Papa. We get lots of toe licks and take lots of trips outside.

Teddy passed away at home this morning. He just drifted away. No scary visit to the vet. The vet is arranging for a person to pick him up since he is too heavy for me to carry him to car. I tried, and sprained my knee.

The house is very lonely now. He was a great companion.

He's out of pain, Lani. We had one who passed in the same way. She just laid down and died before we could get her to the vet. :bighug:

From all your stories about him, Ted was clearly a Very Good Boy. I'm glad he went peacefully, though I know that does little for the hole in your heart. The fact that we live so much longer than they do is a major design flaw in our universe.

Biscuit grabs Root Beer's tail, and when big sister takes off running she doesn't let go. I think she does it for the ride.

Thank all of you. Ted was a special dog, twice dumped. I'm lucky to have saved him. He saved me, too. My clinic staff loved him so much they wanted him to comfort patients in the waiting room .

I miss him so much.

I can imagine - it's always so hard to let one of these precious creatures and dedicated friends go. From everything you've said, Ted sounds like a really special one :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: It also sounds like you gave him a wonderful life, for which I'm sure he's quite grateful!

I can't help myself. I miss my dog so much. Someone a few miles away from me has a golden doodle, 1.5 yrs old. Dad got the dog as a puppy for his kids, but they lost interest. The single parent dad doesn't have much time for the dog. Poor dog is chained in the backyard. Very little training, not housebroken. I'm meeting the dog tomorrow late in the day.

I will probably cry a lot. Maybe the dog will, too. Ted did that. I held him for a long time when I brought him home.
