Another thing, and I'm pretty sure that was photoshopped to begin with, but while the Queen is the one offically touching your shoulders with the sword and all, the Honours List is presented to her by the Government and she can put someone on it if she wants, no one would oppose it, the fact is she knights the people on the list that Parliament hands her.

The last time a King threatened to put his own people on the list outside what was suggested was Edward VII said if they didn't pass a reform that the Commons had passed several times but the Lords kept blocking, he said he would make as many Lords as it took to pass the law. He died before it came to that, but George V said he would also pack the Lords with Liberals and it finally passed, a reform that prevented the Lords from being able to veto laws easily. Kind of like killing the filibuster,

Funny.

Or, in the current vernacular, lol!

As I texted my daughter after she commented on my peculiar English usage:

I speak an antient and forgotten tongue. :oldman:

She loled.

I found this about honorary knighthoods...
Americans who have been awarded an honorary knighthood or damehood

For over a century, US citizens have received honorary British knighthoods and damehoods. For example, US Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H W Bush, and Dwight D Eisenhower all became Knights of the Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. Eisenhower also became an honorary member of the Order of Merit in 1945 for running the Allied campaign during World War 2.

Perhaps the fact that it is 'honorary' makes it okay?
Or perhaps they got Congessional approval, like the Constitution says?

"There is a simple way to disqualify President Trump," Cobb said. "He clearly violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution's Article III when he gave aid and comfort and three hours of inaction with regard to what was happening on the grounds of the Capitol. That clearly gave aid and comfort to the insurrectionists."

Yes! I very strongly believe that should be done, and he gives the strongest reason why. No one needs to prove Trump was part of the plotting or intended for there to be an insurrection, but once there was, he has a DUTY to do whatever he could to fulfill his oath to protect and defend the Constitution, and in this case that meant doing whatever he could to quell the insurrection. By doing precisely *nothing* for those hours, he did give aid and comfort to the insurrectionists, and that all the law requires as I understand it.

Of course, just because I believe it *should* happen doesn't mean I think there's a realistic chance that it *will* happen. For one thing, who would implement it? I mean, how would you even start to go about doing something like that? Would it take a trial?

Such a mess.

Presidents You Didn’t Know Were Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II (and Why Donald Trump Might Be Next in Line)

by Jess Bolluyt
Published on November 28, 2018

During her long reign over the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II has met numerous presidents of the United States. She hasn’t yet met Donald Trump. And some people don’t think that she ever will, since he already canceled a trip to the United Kingdom (and doesn’t seem to be winning many fans among the British people). But Trump could still be in the running for a high honor bestowed by the monarch: an honorary knighthood.

In fact, several U.S. presidents have been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. And if you look at one characteristic that those presidents had in common, it seems that Donald Trump could be next.

Meet Christina Bobb — former OAN presenter, 2020 election denier, and Trump's latest attorney to face legal trouble

Sophia Ankel
September 10, 2022, 10:05 AM·

Christina Bobb is at the forefront of Trump's legal battle against the DOJ over the Mar-a-Lago raid.

She previously worked at the far-right OAN network and the Marine Corps, and once ran for Congress.

Insider spoke to experts and colleagues, who described her as a staunch Trump acolyte.

On June 3, three FBI agents and a Justice Department official met with Donald Trump and his lawyers in the dining room of Mar-a-Lago, the Florida club he moved to after his presidency.

The officials were there to retrieve all remaining classified documents in Trump's possession as part of a subpoena issued a month earlier.

Christina Bobb, one of Trump's lawyers, signed a letter attesting that a "diligent search" had been conducted and all material that was in Mar-a-Lago at the time had been returned to the US government, per a court filing.

But two months later, on August 8, the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, uncovering 20 boxes worth of new material, including 11 sets that were marked as classified.

The discovery raised serious doubts about Bobb's statement and prompted questions about who she is, how she got the top job with the former president, and what legal trouble she may now face.

Bobb did not respond to Insider's request for an interview.

I've no doubt she's capable of lying for Trump, but I wonder if Mar-a-Lago had been emptied, then boxes were brought in from somewhere else.

I don't know if there's enough to get all those properties searched, but damn.

Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb calls him ‘deeply wounded narcissist’ who acted in ‘criminal’ way to overturn Biden win

  • Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb called ex-President Donald Trump a “deeply wounded narcissist.”
In a new interview, Cobb said Trump acted in a “criminal” manner when he sought to have then-Vice President Mike Pence block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.
Cobb also said Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, while a mob of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol, could lead to him being barred from seeking the presidency.
Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb called ex-President Donald Trump a “deeply wounded narcissist” who acted in a “criminal” manner when he pushed then-Vice President Mike Pence to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.

In a new interview, Cobb also said Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, while a mob of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol, could — at least theoretically — lead to him being barred from seeking the presidency.

“There is a simple way to disqualify President Trump,” Cobb told CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett in an interview on “The Takeout” podcast.

“He clearly violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution’s Article III when he gave aid and comfort and three hours of inaction with regard to what was happening on the grounds of the Capitol,” he said.

“That clearly gave aid and comfort to the insurrectionists,” said Cobb, who added that a joint declaration by both chambers of Congress could on those grounds block Trump from being able to regain the White House.

"Don't build in the flood plaines!"

PS. I don't see the gates "blown off their hinges". In the upper tweet they are neatly stacked in pairs, leaving open for flood waters to pass thru (though one pair seems to be missing).
