Is that actually something that might pop-up or a photoshop. It does seem like something a programmer might toss in for fun. Still amusing either way.
Earlier today, if it was here it might have said gauges are in the next county, or gauges now have new improved golf ball dimples (the pebble-sized hail was plentiful).

It is real.
I had never seen it display that before I moved to FL, where insane rain rates are fairly common (our year-to-date max rain rate so far is 15.5 in/hr)

Apparently, somebody gave TFG his sharpie back and he planned the Mindy route.
With Mindy spinning around and now climbing over Florida and showing longing eyes for Larry in the Atlantic, Mindy and Larry need a theme. Hmmm.
(jump to 14:37 if it does not automatically).

With this fast moving storm some coastal TX schools aren't wasting time.

The biggest threat from this storm to Houston is highway flooding. Significant parts of I45 and I69 are below ground level and can flood very quickly. Why they were built this way I don't know.
I do know from personal experience that the roads leading to Hobby often become impassible even in heavy thunderstorms.
