Italian Artist Salvatore Garau Has Just Sold an Invisible Sculpture for $18,000 USD

Italian artist Salvatore Garau has just sold an invisible sculpture for $18,000 USD. The Io Sono (I am) sculpture, as the artist explains, exists but just not in material form, and is actually more like a “vacuum.”

Why is Adam always depicted as having nipples and a belly button? What was the purpose for this sole human and only gender at the time?

Things that make you go "Hmm.."
I'd be more concerned with why Michelangelo's David was uncircumcised.
See how art can broaden your mind?

'Paradise Lost': How The Apple Became The Forbidden Fruit

His [Milton's] great work dramatizes the oldest story in the Bible, whose principal characters we know only too well: God, Adam, Eve, Satan in the form of a talking snake — and an apple.

Except, of course, that Genesis never names the apple but simply refers to "the fruit."

But in the course of his over-10,000-line poem, Milton names the fruit twice, explicitly calling it an apple. So how did the apple become the guilty fruit that brought death into this world and all our woe?

The short and unexpected answer is: a Latin pun.

In order to explain, we have to go all the way back to the fourth century A.D., when Pope Damasus ordered his leading scholar of scripture, Jerome, to translate the Hebrew Bible into Latin. Jerome's path-breaking, 15-year project, which resulted in the canonical Vulgate, used the Latin spoken by the common man. As it turned out, the Latin words for evil and apple are the same: malus.

Hubby contributed this. I am so proud! After almost 47 years of marriage, he finally appreciates art other than that made by concrete (as in a green concrete "lawn", an all concrete room with a fire hose on the wall for cleaning and a drain in the floor, and he buys wonderful jewelry for me).

You need to go to the link to see the photo gallery.

My brother, the Yeti, and his SO, Dr. J, took a ramble through the Mission District today (as one does) and took some pics of the current street art. San Francisco has lots of it, both formal murals and free range artists, and it is ever changing.
