Hey, #LukeCrew! Tina Peters' trial starts it seems on Wednesday. Anybody up for some trial coverage? Peters faces 10 criminal charges on election tampering & official misconduct. SCOTUS denied her bid to block it. Folks say it will be live-streamed.

Jury selection begins today. The trial is scheduled to start on Wednesday with an estimate of 8 days for the trial length.

Yay #LukeCrew! We're getting the band back together! I'll be nailed to the house all day Wednesday as there's an alleged dishwasher delivery/installation supposedly happening that day (I bought it May 1 and have had about a dozen installation dates given to me LOL).

Is this a Fed or state case? If it's fed maybe it won't stream?

One thing maybe folks here can help me find: On the docket list, I can get the info above but not the actual filings. Does Colorado not provide those for free? I wrote to the Mesa County clerk, a Colorado Law blog, and have been looking but can't find them. I know nothing about Colorado law, but courts almost always prohibit unauthorized recording (and streaming). Because there are (very legitimate) concerns about juror and court-personnel safety.

So, yeah, if there isn't a pre-apporoved stream, I wouldn't count on people believing they can just walk in and hold their cameras up.

Some of the crazies may try. But they may also just use their own yt channels to stream the CO feed so they and their fans can comment. I've seen several channels that do that (I watched one during the Alex Murdaugh trial).

UPDATE #TinaPetersTrial: The trial WILL have EMC (Extended Media Coverage). Starts 7/31 at 10am local. Thanks to the Mesa County Clerk who just sent me the judge's Order. Defendant Tina Peters OBJECTED to any EMC for trial. KREX and KFQX will control the pooling. Order:

I live in Alabama but I had to order from a place in Florida, so that's interstate commerce. Yeah probably federal.

The guy is actually here, so that's an achievement. He's never installed one before; he told me he had looked it up when he got the assignment to install it. Oh boy.

I have two of these (Fisher Paykel dish drawers). The one I use most most often is running like a champ; it's the other one that gave me trouble. It quit working and I had repair folks out several times to no avail.

FisherPaykel is usually pretty good stuff - designed in Kiwiland.

There was once upon a time a lawsuit by FisherPaykel against LG. LG flat out stole IP from FisherPaykel. Didn't even try to hide it, they just copied their Clotheswasher tech top to bottom, right down to the advertising slogan. Weird behaviour.

I still have issues buying LG stuff, but we do have LG solar panels - they were best on the market when we installed.

Well, each side has only so many strikes and the judge is only going to excuse so many for cause, not every one asked for, so it'll be done whether they like it or not.

Absolutely! Great job.

It's seldome, in my experience, that they are not nice and informative. Of all the DAs, AGs' offices sheriff's offices and clerks that bogus info and I contacted during the height of the birther madness, even if they quickly expressed their disdain for Obama, they all did their jobs as they were tasked and sworn to and were all very helpful and informative. Even the TX AG's office.

Side note: One of our favorites was the head of SCOTUS police at the time, and female, and she was a real hoot. She asked us after the first contact to give her a heads up when the next Orly filing would be coming so they could plan on reading it and laughing at it as soon as possible. I can't right now remember he name, but she was amazing. Gave me her email and a cell # to contact any time.

Three takeaways from #TinaPetersTrial opening arguments:

1. Effective opening by Prosecutors laying out key elements.

2. Super vapid opening (minus when livestream cut out) from Defense, who spent half the time on the jury's role. Pretty much substance-free.

3. Defense already antagonized the judge (interrupting him with "Hold On," for example). The judge scolded her a few times. Multiple prosecutor objections were sustained.

Frankly, Defense is at a disadvantage already. They're not helping with these antics.
