Gaetz of Hell
For the Nameless Ones

We keep the names of victims of sex crimes confidential for a reason. Privacy matters. I know this personally because when I took the man who groomed and then molested me from the ages of 12 to 16 to court when I was 20, I was able to file the civil action under my initials.

He turned 40 the year it stopped.

It’s a funny thing to me how Gaetz and his friends keep trying to write this off as “generosity” to his “partners.” The man who molested me gave me flowers, cards, birthday presents, all in the context of his practice as a family therapist. He claimed at the trial he was just being kind to a kid in need, that giving a 16 year old a dozen roses on Valentine’s Day in the context of a therapy appointment, and then telling her she had to leave them there as a part of “our secret,” was just generosity and ordinary kindness— nothing nefarious about it.

Lately, I keep thinking about how we’re everywhere, we women who have been preyed upon, violated and used by older men when we were teens. You pass us on the street every day, in your community, in your supermarket, at the dog park or in your place of worship.

Has this been posted here? I don't recall seeing it before.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/04/2 ... aud-483464
Months before news broke that the feds were investigating him for sex trafficking, Rep. Matt Gaetz was at the center of a separate internal fight at the Justice Department. The sparring match involved an Oval Office meeting, a foul-mouthed threat from the attorney general and voting in Florida. It has not been previously reported.

In Aug. 2018, President Donald Trump nominated Larry Keefe — a former law partner of Gaetz’s at the firm Keefe, Anchors & Gordon — as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Florida. More than a year after he was sworn in, and as Joe Biden was locking up the Democratic nomination, Keefe looked to open a wide-ranging probe into voter fraud in Florida, according to two people familiar with the matter.

To open the probe, he needed approval from the Public Integrity Section at the Justice Department’s headquarters. The lawyers there blanched at the statewide scope of Keefe’s proposal, the sources said, and indicated they thought it would be too broad.

Keefe told Gaetz that he was facing resistance from the Public Integrity Section, according to a third person familiar with the situation.

I read that article and I"m not sure I see any evidence of illegal activity, or even seriously unethical conduct.

It seems to me that USA Keefe wanted to launch an investigation into voter fraud in Florida.

Keefe got pushback from DOJ and went to Gaetz, who in turn spoke with Trump.

When Barr got wind of it, he blew up.

All of this sounds like fairly normal politics. Keefe may have made a mistake by trying to go over Barr's head, but that is not a crime.

He was trying to investigate voter fraud in the Southern District of Florida while he as the USA for the Northern District of Florida. He was trying a novel approach to the law by saying, because the capital, where the final certification happens is in his district, he can investigate election fraud in counties outside of his district. The DOJ powers that be told him no. Gaetz went and whined to The Former Guy about it. Barr does not like a Congress critter going to the Prez on behalf of a US Attorney under Barr's roof, without his knowledge.

Too also, yapping to a politician about a DOJ investigation (or potential investigation).

And even given Barr's creative ideas of the law, even he knows that a Congressman and President do to know the law so does not want them conspiring behind his back, especially as Barr would have to deal with the consequences in the long run.

Gaetz's complaints about Iran hostage scheme will not distract FBI probe -source

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-ea ... ce=twitter
A federal investigation into whether U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz trafficked a minor for sex will not be derailed by his assertion that a veteran asked his father for money to pay for the release of an American held by Iran, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation said.

Investigators believe the purported scheme to free Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran in 2007, lacked credibility, the source said. Another U.S. official familiar with the case noted that Levinson's family in March 2020 publicly accepted U.S. government assessments that he died in Iranian custody.

Federal investigators are examining the purported attempt while separately also looking into whether Gaetz, a Florida Republican, may have violated sex trafficking laws by paying travel expenses for a 17-year-old female, the law enforcement source said.

"One has nothing to do with the other," the source said.

(CNN)Federal authorities are looking into whether a 2018 trip to the Bahamas involving Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz and several young women was part of an orchestrated effort to illegally influence Gaetz in the area of medical marijuana, people briefed on the matter told CNN.

Prosecutors with the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section are examining whether Gaetz took gifts, including travel and paid escorts, in exchange for political favors, the sources said.

As part of an ongoing probe into Gaetz, investigators are examining whether he engaged in a relationship with a girl that began when she was 17. In pursuing evidence of potential public corruption, sources tell CNN that investigators are also scrutinizing Gaetz's connections to medical marijuana, both in terms of legislation he's sponsored and his connections to people involved in the industry, searching for so-called pay-to-play arrangements.

Gaetz has a long history of advocating for medical marijuana and has introduced several pieces of legislation seeking to loosen laws regulating the drug, both as a state representative in Florida and as a member of Congress. A number of his close associates have ties to the industry, including Jason Pirozzolo, a Florida doctor who founded a medical marijuana advocacy group and has in past news coverage in Florida been described as a "marijuana investor." According to reports, Pirozzolo accompanied Gaetz on the 2018 trip to the Bahamas that investigators are scrutinizing.

If the Democrats did not tend to run around with ore scruples they would take serious advantage of the new Trumpette Congrescritters and set them up for a ton of ethics violations and legal issues. Their lack of ethics and morals makes them easy targets.

Daily Beast (so, grains of salt): Bombshell Letter: Gaetz Paid for Sex With Minor, Wingman Says:
The Daily Beast has obtained a confession letter that Joel Greenberg wrote after asking Roger Stone to help him obtain a pardon.

A confession letter written by Joel Greenberg in the final months of the Trump presidency claims that he and close associate Rep. Matt Gaetz paid for sex with multiple women—as well as a girl who was 17 at the time.

“On more than one occasion, this individual was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District and myself,” Greenberg wrote in reference to the 17-year-old. “From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman.”

The letter, which The Daily Beast recently obtained, was written after Greenberg asked Roger Stone to help him secure a pardon from then-President Donald Trump.

In late 2020, Greenberg was out of jail and in communication with Stone. A series of private messages between the two—also recently obtained by The Daily Beast—shows a number of exchanges between Greenberg and Stone conducted over the encrypted messaging app Signal, with communications set to disappear. However, Greenberg appears to have taken screenshots of a number of their conversations.

“If I get you $250k in Bitcoin would that help or is this not a financial matter,” Greenberg wrote to Stone.

“I understand all of this and have taken it into consideration,” Stone replied. “I will know more in the next 24 hours I cannot push too hard because of the nonsense surrounding pardons.”

“I hope you are prepared to wire me $250,000 because I am feeling confident,” Stone wrote to Greenberg on Jan. 13.

In a text message to The Daily Beast, Stone said that Greenberg had tried to hire him to assist with a pardon but he denied asking for or receiving payment or interceding on his behalf. He did, however, confirm he had Greenberg prepare “a document explaining his prosecution.”
This is House of Cards: Stone trying to suck not only money but a blackmail-worthy letter out of Greenberg.
