Naturally, I messed up my password and requested a reset.
The link provided for the reset sent me to the http address (NOT the https address), where I was warned that it was not secure.

Yeah, I had no internet at all for the first 42 years of my life!

Forty two years, wow. That's a long time to be offline, actually.

But I get a little bit spoiled. I'm used to flawless connectivity, and I accept no substitutes.

'Course, I have a good number of websites and only one had the problem.

Very suspicious.

Thanks for addressing the certificate issue quickly.

You got me thinking about life before we had the internet. Of course we are in the same age group so I also lived my first 43 years or so w/o the internet. Fortunately I grew up having a smart father and mother with curious minds despite their lack of formal education and a slew of older brothers who went to engineering school. They kind of taught me to be curious about things. I would spend hours reading about just about anything in the not so current set of World Book Encyclopedias that we owned. I could name every state capital by the time I was in third grade and could probably tell you the #1 product that state was known for making or growing. Yeah we could actually know stuff before internet. Not much though.

Lol. Good snark. And no need to be embarrassed. No-one ever knows anything till they are shown

What you need to do is to click on the little arrow beside your name. On mine its the top right corner of my browser page, but might vary depending on board style.

Suranis01.jpg
Suranis01.jpg (20.11 KiB) Viewed 2509 times

Then hit the tab for Board preferences on the top. Once you are there find the "My Board Style" line, and click the arrow on the left hand side of the box. A prompt with various selections should come up. Select one and hit OK

Suranis02.jpg

That should replace the board style cookie with a new one that has a valid style.

Any more questions just ask. My board style is X-creamy.

Ever since the March 24 certificate problems I can't seem to get to the https version of Thefogbow. Also every time I open Thefogbow after open the browser I have to login.

Any ideas? Using Chrome browser.

So what happens when you try to use the https version? Like if you click https://thefogbow.com do you get an error message?

I got some automated emails about my SSL certificates last night, and I'm in line with the chat support at the hosting company. So if you could give me an error message or something to give them, that would help maybe.

The support guy is working on it, apparently some of my domains were not fully set up in DNS, like I had https://thefogbow.com but not https://www.thefogbow.com, which is a different address.

Great.

Well, except now I sprained my arm patting myself on the back. :blackeye:

The support guy was fairly impressed that I'm using cryptographic keys instead of password authentication to access my server via SFTP.

That's how the big kids do it.

That's lame. Most providers nowadays equate the non-www with the www subdomain automatically, offers a choice to the owner which one (s)he prefers (or keep them separate entities - unwise).

I assume that the bird chirp site has done something evil because I cannot see anyone's inclusions from that site anymore.

It tells me to disable adblocker and tracker protection and try again. I will NOT disable tracker protection.

I'll just have to hallucinate about what you are trying to discuss if no text only explanation is given.

EDIT: wait a minute... they just started showing up again after I posted the above. Perhaps I have just returned from the Twilight Zone. (do do do do, do do do do)

EDIT TOO: 'isitup' and similar sites are reporting that the birdchirp site is down. So I guess they're having trouble.
